Rabot Energy: dynamic electricity tariff, switching, contract terms and cashback
Rabot Energy is a Hamburg based electricity supplier for homes in Germany. It is known for a dynamic tariff that follows the hourly price on the power exchange, and it also sells a fixed price tariff. Since this is a service and not a webshop, the points that matter are where it is available, how switching works, how long you are tied in and how you pay.
Where you can use it
Rabot supplies electricity in Germany only. The tariff calculator on the homepage asks for your postcode, your household size and your yearly usage in kWh, and shows the price for your address. Companies with a large demand are asked to contact the shop for an individual offer. If you live outside Germany, this supplier is not an option for you.
The two tariffs
| Tariff | How it works | Contract |
|---|---|---|
| rabot.dynamic | Price follows the exchange, a smart meter helps most | Monthly cancellable |
| rabot.fix | Fixed price, no smart meter needed | 1 year term |
With the dynamic tariff you pay what the electricity actually costs at the time you use it, and some hours can be very cheap when a lot of wind and solar power is on the grid. A smart meter lets Rabot read your use every 15 minutes, which makes shifting a car charge or a heat pump into cheap hours worthwhile. You can also use the tariff without one: you send your meter reading in the app and Rabot settles the month on that basis. The shop also mentions an optional price cap called rabot.comfort. The shop says all its electricity comes from renewable sources, backed by guarantees of origin.
Switching and start of supply
Rabot handles the switch with your old supplier and the grid operator. By signing up you authorise it to cancel your current contract. It can only cancel in the ordinary way, so the start date depends on the notice period of your old contract. If you give no notice period, Rabot cancels at the earliest possible date. The shop describes a typical switch as taking about three weeks and promises that you will not be left without power. You do not need to send a starting meter reading, because the grid operator passes it on.
Cancelling and paying
The FAQ says you can cancel the supply contract at any time with one month's notice, without the usual minimum terms of 12 or 24 months. The fixed price tariff is presented with a one year term, so read the contract summary for that tariff before you confirm.
Your monthly payment is called Abschlag, a fixed instalment based on the yearly usage you stated. It is collected by SEPA direct debit through the payment provider Billogram. If you prefer to transfer it yourself, you agree this with customer service first. Once a year Rabot compares what you paid with what you used and issues either a credit or an additional payment.
Contact
You can write through the contact form on the shop, choosing a topic such as billing, meter reading, switching or cancellation. The shop says it replies within two working days. The company address is Hopfenmarkt 33, 20457 Hamburg. The form also points to the terms, the privacy notice and the right of withdrawal.
Cashback with Rabot Energy
Open the Rabot Energy page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to $33.63) and the offers are listed, and we check them daily. Press the shop button there and then sign up on the shop as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as pending and becomes confirmed after Rabot has reported the contract. If the contract does not start or is cancelled early, the cashback can be reduced. The page is in German, because the offer is for customers in Germany.
Before you sign up
- Check your current notice period, since it decides when Rabot can start.
- Decide whether you want a smart meter. Without one the dynamic tariff works, but you save less by shifting usage.
- Do not click through other cashback or voucher sites during sign up, as a later click can replace the first one.
As of October 2026. Tariff details and terms can change, so check the offer before you confirm.
