LawDepot: prices, free trial, cancelling, refunds and cashback
LawDepot is an online service for legal documents such as lease agreements, wills, powers of attorney, loan agreements and business contracts. You answer a questionnaire, and the site builds the document for you to download, print or sign online. There is nothing to ship, so the questions that matter are different: what the plans cost, how the free trial ends, how you cancel, when you get a refund and which country the document is made for. We read the help centre, the terms of use and the home page on lawdepot.com in October 2026. Prices and terms can change, so the order page has the last word. LawDepot says it is not a law firm and gives no legal advice.
Which countries the service is for
The US site at lawdepot.com/us covers documents for the United States and, according to the home page, all 50 states. The help centre also links to separate sites for Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. A licence is valid for the country of the document you pick when you buy, and you are charged in that country's currency. So a US lease is a US document, and the service does not replace a lawyer if you live abroad and need a document under another country's rules.
Plans and prices
The help centre lists four ways to pay, quoted in US dollars. The Free 7-Day Trial gives unlimited access to all documents for one week and then renews at $49 per month. The 1-Year Pro Subscription costs $155.88 for a year of unlimited access, and unlike the free trial it renews annually rather than monthly. A Single Document License is a one-time charge without renewal, priced between $7.50 and $119 depending on the document, and it suits people who need just one contract. Essentials Access unlocks one category: real estate and estate planning documents cost $35 per month or $107.88 per year, business documents cost $45 per month or $131.88 per year. Online notarisation is separate: the first seal is $25 and each further seal is $10, with 20 percent off for subscribers.
Free trial and cancelling
The free trial lasts seven days, and during that time you can create, download and print as many documents as you need. LawDepot asks for a credit card at sign-up, so that service continues when the monthly subscription starts. Your card is not charged if you cancel before the trial ends, and a confirmation email shows the exact end date and time.
You cancel through the button in your help centre or account, and a confirmation email arrives at once. The help centre warns that a cancellation sent by email or without signing in needs at least one business day to process, so a renewal can slip through. After cancelling you can still log in and view your documents, but you need a licence or subscription to print or download them again, so save your files first.

Refunds and the guarantee
The terms say annual subscriptions can be refunded within 30 days of the first purchase. Renewals are only refunded if you told LawDepot before the renewal date that you wanted to cancel, and a free trial that has turned into a paid plan is not refunded. One-time purchases carry no refund obligation, and business formation services are non-refundable. To ask for money back, contact support by phone at 1-855-231-8424, by email or in the live chat. The home page also advertises a $25,000 legal guarantee on documents, and the terms add that a guarantee only applies if it was promoted for your product when you paid, and that it covers mistakes in the wording made by LawDepot.
Using cashback
Open the LawDepot page at daily cashback, where the current rate (12.5%) and the offers we found are listed with the date they were last checked. Press the shop button there, then sign up or buy as you normally would. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed once LawDepot has reported the order. A refund reduces the amount for that purchase, so a cancelled sale does not leave cashback behind.
Practical tips
- Set a reminder for day six of the trial, because the monthly charge starts when the week ends.
- Download and save every document before you cancel.
- Finish the sign-up in one visit and keep other cashback or voucher tabs closed, because a later click can replace the first one.
