Browser Settings, Cookies and Ad Blockers for Cashback Tracking
Cashback tracking is fragile in one specific way: the click that links you to the shop has to survive until you pay. Browsers and blockers that protect your privacy can interfere with that. This guide explains what is stored, what breaks it and how to set up your browser without giving up your privacy altogether.
What the tracking click does
When you press the shop button on our page, you are sent to the shop through a link that carries a reference. The shop or its network stores that reference, often in a cookie or in the browser's local storage. When you pay, the shop reads it and reports the order with that reference. If the reference is missing at that moment, the order cannot be linked to your account.
Common causes of lost tracking
Ad blockers and tracking protection
Ad blockers and privacy extensions often block the domains used by affiliate networks. Built-in tracking protection in browsers can do the same. The result is that the click is never stored. Pause the blocker for the shop and for our page before you click.
Third-party cookie blocking
Many browsers block third-party cookies by default. Some networks work around this with server-side tracking, but not all shops do. Setting the browser to allow cookies from the shop for the session helps. You do not need to keep this setting afterwards.
Private or incognito windows
A private window starts clean and deletes cookies when it closes. It works if you stay in the same window until the order is complete, but extra rules in some browsers still block the cookie. If in doubt, use a normal window.
Clearing cookies mid-session
Automatic cleaners that delete cookies on a timer, or when you close a tab, can remove the reference before the purchase is complete. Disable them for the length of your shopping.
Several tabs and devices
Starting on a phone and paying on a laptop does not carry the reference over. Open the shop on the device you will pay with. Also avoid opening the shop in a second tab through another link, since it can overwrite the first.
Other cashback tools and extensions
Coupon extensions that offer to apply codes may reset the tracking. Another cashback portal's button does the same. Keep only one active during the order.
A recommended setup
- Use a normal browser window, up to date.
- Pause your ad blocker for the shop and for daily-cashback.info.
- Allow cookies for the session.
- Close other cashback and coupon sites.
- Click the shop button and shop in the same tab.
- Pay in one visit, then keep the confirmation email.
A quick test
After you click through, look at the address bar at the shop. If you see extra parameters in the address, or a short redirect, the click was probably passed on. This is not a guarantee, but a plain address without anything extra after a redirect can be a hint that something stripped it. If you are unsure, start again from our page with the blocker off.
Privacy and cookies on our side
You do not have to give up privacy permanently. You only need to allow the reference for the shopping session. How we handle cookies and partner links is described in our privacy notice. We are an information portal and do not sell goods ourselves.
If the order still does not show
Check our guide on missing cashback and send the order details. Mention which browser and blockers you used. We look at shop information every day, and the conditions are written on each shop page, so you can see what counts. The wider rules are in the terms of use.
