Trip.com vs Kiwi.com: Which Has Cheaper Flights?

· 2026-09-23

Trip.com vs Kiwi.com: where are flights cheaper, and where do you get something back? On price, the route decides. On cashback both have a shop page at daily cashback, and what separates them is mainly the timing of the confirmation and what happens when you change plans. We put Trip.com first because you can book flight and stay in one account there and the cashback is confirmed after the trip. Kiwi.com is the alternative for combined flights. Status: October 2026.

The shop pages

Trip.com has its shop page in the German edition of daily cashback, and the current rate is shown there. The Kiwi.com shop page is in the English edition. Rates can change, so check both on the same day.

When cashback is confirmed

At Trip.com your booking first appears as pending. After the trip Trip.com confirms it, and from then on the cashback can then be paid out in line with the offer terms. Travel cashback is generally confirmed once the trip is completed and the partner network has checked the booking. Book in winter for summer and you wait until after the summer holiday.

At Kiwi.com your purchase is shown as pending after the order, and the cashback becomes payable once Kiwi.com has confirmed the order. How long it takes depends on the shop and the partner network.

When your plan changes

This is the most important difference. At Trip.com the entitlement to cashback may fall away or be reversed if a booking is cancelled, changed or not taken up. So do not plan on cashback for a trip you might have to rebook. At Kiwi.com the rule is: cashback exists only for orders the shop keeps, and a cancelled or refunded order earns nothing.

Kiwi.com offers three ticket types, Saver, Standard and Flexi. Saver allows no change. With Standard and Flexi you can rebook once. What a rebooking does to your cashback is set by the shop's terms, not by us. If a date matters to you, ask us before you change.

How to proceed

  • Decide on one site and open its shop page at daily cashback first.
  • From the shop page go to the provider, and only then begin the search.
  • Buy in one session. Discount sites and comparison portals in between prevent tracking.
  • Keep the confirmation. It helps if the booking ever fails to appear.

Tracking needs a click from our page shortly before the order and active cookies. An ad blocker can interfere, so it is best to switch it off for the purchase.

Particulars of Kiwi.com

Our shop page notes that Kiwi.com joins flights from airlines that do not normally work together using its search engine, including budget carriers. On self-connected flights you are told to leave plenty of time for the transfer and to find out whether baggage is checked through to the destination. Hotels and rental cars can be booked along with the tickets. Discount codes that are not named on the shop page can affect eligibility for cashback.

Particulars of Trip.com

Trip.com is a travel portal with flights, hotels, rail and car hire. Anyone booking several parts should look at each one separately: flight and hotel have their own terms. Trip.com shows the exact rules in the booking step.

An example: flight and hotel

You plan five days in Lisbon and want to book flight and stay in one go. At Trip.com you set up both in one account and open the shop page first. Kiwi.com helps you with the flight route, while the stay stays an extra you can add to the ticket. Before booking, decide which part is fixed and which might still change, and book the uncertain part under the more flexible rule.

What we recommend

If your date is fixed and you plan flight and hotel together, Trip.com with its shop page is a sound choice. If you are after the cheapest connection and find self-connected flights acceptable, look at Kiwi.com too. Decide by the total price, not by the cashback rate alone.
