Trip.com vs Agoda: Which One Fits You, and Where Is Cashback Paid?
Trip.com vs Agoda: for cashback the choice is Trip.com, which has a shop page at daily cashback, while Agoda is not listed with us. Neither site is cheaper by default, since flights and rooms are priced route by route and night by night. Status October 2026.
How to book on Trip.com and keep the cashback
- Log in to daily cashback with your free account.
- Open Trip.com at daily cashback. The table there lists a rate per product group, so find the line for what you plan to buy.
- Click the cashback button; Trip.com loads in a new window.
- Pick your hotel, flight, train ticket or rental car and pay inside that window.
- The order is shown in your account as pending.
- After the trip, when the partner has checked the booking, the entry becomes payable.
Cases where the payout is lost
- The booking is cancelled, refunded or not used. The shop page says changes, refunds and no-shows can affect eligibility.
- A cheaper room is booked on terms that rule out changes, and plans then shift. Trip.com states that such a room cannot be changed or refunded, and its terms take precedence over the hotel's own.
- Cookies are refused or an ad blocker interferes with the click.
- A coupon page gets opened somewhere between our click and the payment.
- The reservation is made at Agoda, which has no shop page with us.
Trip.com and Agoda in a few lines
- Scope. Trip.com sells flights, hotels, trains and rental cars under one login. Agoda sells flights and accommodation.
- Hotel confirmation. Trip.com says that for many rooms confirmation is instant and the room is guaranteed from then on. If it cannot confirm a booking, it refunds you in full.
- Loyalty. Trip.com members get a tier system and Trip Coins, whose conditions sit on separate Trip.com pages. Agoda's VIP programme is free, its criteria are set by Agoda, and promo codes normally cannot be combined with it.
- Fees. Agoda may add a booking fee to flights and stays, labelled at times as convenience fee, which it does not refund. Trip.com shows its fees in its booking process.
- Secret deals. Agoda has a programme in which the property is named only after confirmation, and such a booking is non-refundable.
Pick Trip.com if you combine flight and hotel and want a payout on both. Pick Agoda if paying at the hotel or later matters more than cashback.

What the rate is based on, with a trip as the example
Suppose you book a flight and a hotel for the same journey. On the Trip.com shop page those are different lines: hotels have one rate, flights another, trains and rental cars their own, and there is a line for bundles too. The payout is worked out on the value of the completed booking. Whatever the page lists as excluded stays outside that value: taxes, tourist levies charged locally, resort charges and cancelled nights.
So you do not multiply one rate by the total of the whole trip. You take each part, look up its line and apply it to the part that counts. If you book the flight and the hotel as a bundle, the bundle line is the one to read.
The completed booking is the key word. A hotel counts after you have stayed, a flight after you have flown. That is why the entry stays pending for weeks on a trip booked early, and why a booking you cancel never turns into money.
The rates are updated by the partner. Read the shop page on the day you book, because the number there is the one that applies.
