Watch Gang from abroad: shipping fees by country, customs, cancelling and cashback

Watch Gang is a US watch club. Members receive a mystery watch every month, and a separate store lets you pick specific models. Because the watches come from the United States, the questions for international buyers are always the same: what does shipping cost, how long does it take and who handles customs. This guide collects what the shop writes about it.

Shipping costs by country

Inside the United States, shipping for monthly subscribers is a flat $9.82. The shop says this fee also covers a lost or damaged shipment. International shipping is priced by region.

The shop adds that shipping costs may change without notice. Sales tax, where it applies, and the shipping fee are shown at checkout and are not part of the subscription price. Some prepay discounts do not apply to international members because of the higher shipping costs.

How long does it take?

The first watch ships within 3 business days of signing up. For every renewal you get tracking information within 3 business days after the renewal is processed, and in the US the parcel then takes about 5 to 7 business days. For international members the shop asks you to plan with up to 3 to 4 weeks from the date you receive tracking, because customs can add delays. Tracking appears by email and in the Recent Shipments section of your account.

Customs and duties

Watch Gang itself does not charge customs or duties on international shipments. Members are responsible for any import duties, customs fees and taxes that their country applies. Check the rules of your country before you subscribe, particularly for the higher tiers.

The three subscription tiers

  • Original is the entry tier, with watches valued at up to $150, usually Japanese Miyota or Seiko movements, stainless steel and leather bands from lesser known brands.
  • Black is the middle tier, with watches valued at up to $500, a mix of Japanese or Swiss quartz movements and now and then an automatic one.
  • Platinum is the top tier, with watches valued at up to $1,500, mainly Japanese and Swiss automatic movements that the shop calls more sophisticated.

Each tier also offers quarterly and on-demand options at the same price as the monthly plan, and a 15% saving on monthly or quarterly plans is advertised. Subscriptions renew automatically on the 1st of each month.

Cancelling and returns

There is no cancellation fee. You stop automatic shipments in your account or by emailing [email protected], and you have to cancel before the rebill date. Cash refunds are not issued for ending a prepaid subscription early. According to the FAQ, all sales are final with no refunds, returns or exchanges for a watch you do not like.

The store policy is different for eligible store items. You can ask for a return within 30 days of delivery if the watch is unworn, unused and complete with packaging, manuals and warranty cards. You first need a Return Authorization from Watch Gang. Approved returns are refunded to the original payment method less a $15 administrative fee for the continental US, or a flat $45 for orders outside it. Subscription shipments, Wheel of Watches items, Level Up drops, final sale items and gift cards are not eligible.

Every watch carries the manufacturer warranty, and Watch Gang helps with the replacement of broken or defective watches in the first 30 days after you receive it.

Cashback on Watch Gang orders

Open the Watch Gang page at daily cashback, where the current rate (3%) is shown. Press the button and sign up or shop as usual. The cashback appears in your free account as open and becomes confirmed after the shop has reported the order. If an order is returned or cancelled, the cashback for it is deducted.

Practical tips

  • Compare the monthly shipping fee for your country with the watch value of the tier before you pick a plan.
  • Note the cancel-before-rebill rule in your calendar.
  • Finish the order in one visit and keep other cashback or voucher sites closed, otherwise the click can be replaced.
