Selling your car to wirkaufendeinauto.at: fees, documents, cashback

· 2026-10-15

wirkaufendeinauto.at is a used car buying service in Austria and part of Autohero. You do not buy a car here, you sell yours: you value it online, book an appointment at a branch and get paid by bank transfer. Because it is a service for Austria, shipping does not apply. What counts is where you can use it, what it costs and what you must bring. We read the FAQ, the branch page and the start page in October 2026.

Where you can use the service

The service is for vehicles in Austria. The site calls itself the largest company for used car purchases in the country, with more than 25 branches, from Braunau am Inn, Graz and Innsbruck-Mils to Vienna, Linz-Steyregg, Salzburg and Wiener Neustadt. The branch finder on the site lets you enter a town or postcode. The site only describes Austrian branches, so if your car is registered elsewhere, clear it with the service before you travel.

How selling works

  • You start with the free online valuation: brand, model, mileage, condition, equipment and a few photos.
  • Experts work out a final price, which you receive online by email. You decide whether to sell.
  • If you accept, you book a handover appointment at the branch you prefer. A staff member confirms your details on site.
  • Payment follows promptly by bank transfer, and the service also deregisters the car for you.

Costs and fees

The whole process, from valuation to purchase of your car, is free of charge for you. If you decide not to sell, no fees arise either. The only thing you give up is your time and your contact details, which the service uses to send the price offer and arrange the appointment.

What you bring

Bring the originals: registration certificate part 1, registration certificate part 2 and the type certificate, data extract or COC, plus any accessories. The service does not buy a car without both parts of the registration certificate. If part 2 is missing, you have to apply for a replacement at the registration office. With a financed car it is different, since the bank usually holds part 2, and the service handles the release with your bank.

Special cases

A car with a running loan can be sold. Bring the bank documents to the appointment so that the outstanding amount can be set against the price, and the car is released from the bank. A car that is no longer registered can also be sold, but you come with a day registration, as the staff do a short test drive.

Cashback

Open the wirkaufendeinauto.at page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to $56.04) and the offers we found are listed. Press the shop button and start the valuation from there. In your free account the cashback shows as open first and becomes confirmed once the service has reported the completed sale. If the sale does not happen, there is nothing to confirm.

Practical tips

  • Start the valuation through the cashback page in the same visit, and do not switch to another site halfway.
  • Collect the documents before you book the appointment, so you do not travel twice.
  • Use one offer source only. A code from another site can replace the cashback click.
