New Skills Academy: who can buy, access, refunds and cashback
New Skills Academy, part of Academy Plus Group Ltd and trading as academy+, sells online courses and an unlimited course membership. Nothing is posted to you, so the questions that count are different from those at a normal shop: who can buy, how you get access, how long it lasts and what happens if you change your mind. The answers below come from the terms and support pages of newskillsacademy.co.uk.
Who can buy and where it works
The website is built for the UK market. The supply terms say that the shop primarily sells to the UK and reserves the right not to accept orders from customers outside the UK. The header of the site offers prices in GBP, EUR, USD, CAD, AUD and NZD, and the support page states that students from all countries can sign in. If you live outside the UK, check at checkout whether your order goes through before you plan around a course.
How access works
Courses are digital content. You study online on a PC, mobile or tablet, at your own pace, and the shop says that every course comes with lifetime access. At the end of a course you take a final test. Passing means answering at least 70 percent of the questions correctly, and the certificate can be verified on the site by its certificate ID at any time.
The unlimited membership is a subscription. It renews automatically on the anniversary of the first period, and you can cancel at any time in your account. After cancelling you keep access until the paid period ends. Courses you completed, including their certificates, stay available afterwards, but part-completed courses are lost. A membership allows up to 50 active courses at the same time.
Changing your mind and refunds
Consumers have a legal right to change their mind within 14 days. For digital content this right ends once you have started to download or stream it, or if the content was delivered immediately and you agreed to that when ordering. For a subscription that you have not used since it started or renewed, you get a full refund if you tell the shop within 14 days. If you have used it, the shop may deduct an amount for the period you received.
You end a contract by email or through the contact form on the website, with your name, address and order details. Refunds go back by the payment method you used, within 14 days of you telling the shop that you changed your mind. If a course is faulty, you are entitled to a repair or a replacement.

Using cashback
Open the New Skills Academy page at daily cashback, where the current rate (5%) and the offers are listed with the date we last checked them. Press the shop button, then shop and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open first and becomes confirmed once the shop has reported the order. If you get a refund, the cashback for that order is deducted.
Practical tips
- Decide before you start a course whether you want to keep it, because the right to change your mind can end once you start streaming.
- Before you buy a membership, diarise the renewal date in case you want to cancel.
- Finish the order in one visit and pause your ad blocker on the shop, since either can break the click.
- Close other cashback and voucher sites while you shop, because a later click can replace the first one.
