Lyca Mobile Ireland: SIM delivery, roaming, keeping your number and cashback
Lyca Mobile Ireland sells prepaid SIM-only plans for the Irish market. There is no handset to ship, only a SIM card or an eSIM, so the questions that matter are how the SIM reaches you, what you can use it for abroad, how you keep your old number and what happens if you want out.
Who can order and where it is delivered
The Irish site advertises free and fast delivery across the Republic of Ireland. That is the market this shop is built for, with Irish plans, an Irish helpline and a coverage check based on the national regulator's map. If you live outside Ireland, ask the shop before ordering whether it can post a SIM to your address.
SIM delivery and eSIM
According to the shop's FAQ, a prepaid SIM normally arrives 2 to 3 business days after you order, and Lyca does not charge any delivery fee for it. If you prefer not to wait, many plans are marked as eSIM available. An eSIM is stored in the phone, so you activate it with an email instead of waiting for the post. Check that your phone supports eSIM first, the shop has a compatibility page for that.
| Point | What the shop says |
|---|---|
| Contract | None, plans are prepaid SIM only |
| Credit check | None |
| SIM delivery | No delivery fee, 2 to 3 business days |
| Plan period | 28 days for the standard plans |
| Roaming | EU roaming included with the plans |
Plans, roaming and calls abroad
Plans run for 28 days and combine national calls and texts with a data allowance. Several plans list a separate allowance for roaming in the EU, Ukraine and Moldova, and the larger plans include free calls to a set group of countries. The exact data, the countries and the monthly cost change with the current line-up, so read the plan card on the day you order.
Keeping your number and getting help
To keep your old number, order the SIM first, then fill in the switch form with your new Lyca number and the ICCID printed on the SIM holder. The shop says the transfer usually takes a few hours, and you get a text as soon as your old number is active on the Lyca SIM. Customer service answers by live chat around the clock. By phone the team is available from 9 am to 6 pm, Monday to Saturday, on 1923 from a Lyca phone or on 01 437 2322 from any other network. Email goes to [email protected], and the shop warns that replies can take 5 to 7 working days.
Cancelling and returns
Because there is no contract, you are not locked in and a plan simply ends after its period unless you renew it. For refund options on an opened SIM, ask customer service before you order.
Cashback on your plan
Open the Lyca Mobile Ireland page at daily cashback, where the current rate ($2.8) and the current offers are listed. Press the shop button, then choose your plan and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed after Lyca Mobile has reported the order. If the order is cancelled or refunded, the cashback for it is deducted.
Handy to know
- Finish the order in the same browser session and pause your ad blocker, or the click may not be tracked.
- Keep other voucher or cashback tabs closed while you order.
- Have the ICCID ready before you start the number switch.
