Buying from O&O Software: ToolBox licence, 30-day guarantee and cashback
O&O Software is a Berlin company that has built Windows tools since the 1990s: backup and imaging (O&O DiskImage), defragmentation, data recovery, secure deletion and privacy tools. For a software shop the questions are not about parcels but about licences, how long you pay, whether you can get your money back and which Windows versions the programs run on. The points below come from the O&O ToolBox pages, which is the bundle the shop currently pushes.
What you get with the O&O ToolBox
The ToolBox is a package of O&O programs for backing up, recovering, optimising and securing a Windows PC. The ToolBox FAQ speaks of 15 full tools, while the product page counts 16 programs, so expect a number in that range. There is no central starter: you receive every program as its own installer and install only the ones you need. O&O DiskImage Premium Edition and O&O Defrag are part of the package. Some functions, such as O&O StartupManager, VisualDisk and DiskCleaner, are built into O&O Defrag and are not installed separately.
Price, term and money-back guarantee
The page advertises the ToolBox from 5 EUR per month, and the fine print says that 59.90 EUR is billed for each period of 12 months. A 30-day money-back guarantee is stated next to the buy button, and updates for all included programs are free during the term of your licence. Users with five or more computers have a separate offer, linked on the same page. The footer of the website also has links to cancel contracts and to withdraw from contracts.
| Point | What the shop says |
|---|---|
| Billing | In periods of 12 months |
| Money-back guarantee | 30 days |
| Updates | Free during the licence term |
| Operating systems | Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit |
| Licence activation | Needs an internet connection |
Licences and devices
Single-user licences are usually per PC, and when you change devices the activation can be moved to a new system. Enterprise licences allow several installations. The activation and the regular licence check need an internet connection, and the installation needs administrator rights. If you lose your licence mail, the support area has a licence recovery page that resends it.
System requirements
The ToolBox runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. The shop names a processor with two cores, a minimum of 4 GB of RAM on 64-bit systems and at least 1 GB of free disk space for the installation, plus extra space for backups and image files. SSD, HDD and NVMe drives are supported, and USB and external drives can be used as backup targets.
Languages and contact
The ToolBox pages exist in English, German, Spanish, French and Italian. For questions before you buy, the site has a contact page and a support section for trial users and registered customers.
Using cashback
Open the O&O Software page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 20%) and the offers we check every day are listed. Press the shop button, choose your product and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open and turns confirmed once O&O has reported the order, normally after the 30-day guarantee period. If you take the money back, the cashback for that order is deducted.
Practical tips
- Decide which of the 15 tools you will really install before you buy, since each one is a separate installation.
- Check that your PC runs a 64-bit version of Windows 10 or 11.
- Keep your order mail, because the licence recovery needs it later.
