Bitdefender vs Norton: Which Antivirus Fits You?
Bitdefender vs Norton: Which Antivirus Fits You? Both sell several packages, from plain antivirus up to identity monitoring, and both display the renewal price openly. We recommend Bitdefender, because even Total Security covers five devices with a password manager, and Bitdefender is a cashback shop on our site. Norton has the longer refund window and a VPN without a daily limit in the packages from Standard upwards. Prices move, status October 2026.
Cashback: Bitdefender with us
The page Bitdefender at daily cashback leads to bitdefender.de, the German-language store, and that store is the one the cashback rate there refers to. The current rate is on the page. We do not list Norton as a shop, so a purchase there earns no cashback from us.

The packages compared
Bitdefender is tiered like this: Total Security (one member, up to five devices, password manager, a standard VPN with 200 MB a day per device), above it Premium Security with unlimited VPN traffic, anti-tracker and email protection for two addresses, then Ultimate Security with dark web monitoring and identity protection. A family version covers five members and up to 25 devices and adds parental control.
Norton splits its range into AntiVirus Plus, 360 Standard, 360 Deluxe and 360 Advanced. Deluxe is built for up to five devices and includes VPN, dark web monitoring, parental control and cloud backup. The device count for Standard differs by country, so the order page shows what applies where you shop.
The point that matters for the choice: the VPN in Bitdefender Total Security is a starter with a daily allowance, the unlimited one comes with Premium. At Norton the VPN is in the package from Standard.
Guarantee, refunds and cashback
Bitdefender names a 30-day money-back guarantee on its buying page. Norton's US page names a 60-day money-back guarantee on annual plans, and its German page speaks of 14 days for monthly and 60 days for yearly subscriptions. Norton also gives a virus protection promise: if its experts cannot remove a virus, you get your money back.
For Bitdefender cashback: if you are refunded, the credit is dropped. A code from an unrelated source can put it at risk as well, since the attribution changes. Details are on the shop page.
Watch the renewal
With both providers the first year is the cheap way in. After that the subscription continues at the normal price. Norton states its saving explicitly against the renewal price, Bitdefender names the first-year price. Put the end date in your calendar so you decide before it renews.
Entry level, single products and upgrades
If you only want to protect one device you need not go straight to the full package. Bitdefender also lists Antivirus Plus for up to three devices on its overview page, and separate Mobile Security products for iPhone and Android. Norton offers AntiVirus Plus with a password manager and scam protection as its slim entry.
Note that at both the first-year figures are given as starting offers. So work out the cost over two or three years and divide it by the number of devices you really protect. That is more honest than looking at the monthly figure in the small print.
The difference between the packages lies less in the antivirus itself than in what surrounds it: VPN scope, identity protection, cloud storage, parental control. Choose the tier by what you will actually use. A data leak alert or a dark web monitor is useful, but it does not replace care with email attachments and downloads.
