Shopping at Koffer.de: shipping by country, customs, returns and cashback

Koffer.de is a German online shop for suitcases, travel bags, backpacks and luggage, with a store in Frankfurt (Luggage Gallery at Gateway Gardens) and its own repair workshop. The shop is in German but delivers to many European countries, including the UK, Norway and Switzerland. This guide summarises shipping prices by country, customs, returns and payment.

Shipping costs

Within Germany and Austria shipping is free from an order value of 49.90 euros, and below that the shop charges 4.90 euros. For other countries the shop charges a flat shipping fee starting at 9.90 euros. Some countries are priced per item.

Customs outside the EU

For the United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland the quoted shipping price already includes the German customs charges. For deliveries outside the EU the shop deducts German VAT. The customs office of your country then charges its own VAT on handover, plus any additional duties and fees there. Non-EU travellers can also shop tax-free in Germany: you pay the full price first, and the shop refunds the VAT once it receives the customs-stamped export proof. Give your home address outside the EU as the billing address when you order.

Delivery time

The shop works with DHL and GLS. Items marked as immediately available are usually shipped the same day if you order before 12:00 and pay at once by card, invoice, PayPal or Sofort. With bank transfer in advance, the parcel leaves on the day your payment arrives. Delivery takes about 24 to 48 hours within Germany and about 2 to 5 working days to other European countries for items marked "sofort lieferbar" or "versandfertig in 1-2 Werktagen". You receive a tracking code in the shipping confirmation email.

Some items ship straight from the manufacturer's plant, which can take longer. If an item turns out to be unavailable, customer service contacts you.

Pick-up in Frankfurt

You can have your order delivered to the Frankfurt store and collect it there. Write your request in the message field during checkout. Collection is usually possible on the next working day, and the shop calls or emails when it is ready.

Returns

You have 30 days to withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason, counted from the day you received the last item. Tell the shop by email, post, fax or the withdrawal form on its site, and enclose the completed form with your return. The customer pays the cost of return shipping, with any carrier, and the shop recommends insured shipping. Returns go to the logistics centre in Neu-Isenburg.

After the shop has checked the goods you get your money back by the payment method you used. This takes about a week. Custom-made items cannot be withdrawn.

Payment and contact

Options are advance payment by bank transfer, PayPal, credit card (Visa, Mastercard), Sofort, and invoice for customers from Germany only. Customers from the Netherlands can use iDEAL and customers from Austria EPS. The hotline is +49 69 83 00 69 07, open Monday to Friday from 9 to 18 hours. The shop also repairs luggage in its in-house workshop, including warranty cases and transport damage.

Using cashback

Open the Koffer.de page at daily cashback first, where the current rate (up to 1.5%) and the latest offers are listed with the date they were last checked. Press the shop button and order as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open and turns confirmed once the shop has reported the order. If you return an item, the cashback for it is deducted.

Tips

  • Shipping to some countries is charged per item, so ordering several cases in one go can cost more than expected.
  • Return shipping is yours, so check the size of a suitcase against your airline's cabin limits before ordering.
  • Order before 12:00 and pay by card or PayPal if you need it fast.
  • Finish the order in one visit and pause your ad blocker, otherwise the cashback click can get lost.
