Kastner & Öhler Switzerland: shipping, customs, returns and cashback
Kastner & Öhler is an Austrian department store, and its Swiss online shop at kastner-oehler.ch is set up for delivery to Switzerland only. If you live elsewhere in Europe, the shop sends you to a different country shop, so it pays to know which one to use before you fill a basket. Prices there are in Swiss francs.
Which countries the Swiss shop serves
The kastner-oehler.ch shop delivers to addresses in Switzerland: your home, your office or any other Swiss address. For parcels going to Germany, France, Italy, Austria or Spain the shop asks you to switch to the matching country shop. For Belgium, Croatia, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary it points to its Austrian online shop. The country selector offers Switzerland, Austria, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
Shipping cost, minimum order and customs
Standard shipping into Switzerland currently costs CHF 3,95 per order, even if the shop has to split the delivery into several parcels. Orders from CHF 149 ship free. The minimum order value is CHF 39. Bulky goods cost CHF 119 for shipping and are only delivered to the kerb. The shop states that customs fees are already included in the shipping cost, so a Swiss customer does not pay anything extra at the door. One footer line on the help pages mentions free shipping from CHF 129, while the shipping page and the banner say CHF 149, so check the threshold in your basket.
Delivery time and carriers
Most parcels arrive within 3 to 6 working days, according to the shop. Swiss Post delivers standard parcels, and bulky goods and large appliances travel with Gebrüder Weiss or DHL. Orders can be split when stock arrives late, so a second parcel is possible. For electrical items sent to Switzerland the shop fits the matching Swiss plug adapters, so devices are ready to use. You can order as a guest, either at checkout or with the PayPal button in the basket.
Returns and refunds
Unused items in as-new condition can go back within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping is free from Austria, Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy and Spain, except bulky goods. Use the return label that comes in the parcel, fill in the return slip and send it to the Swiss return address in St. Gallen. The label can be downloaded again if you lose it. There is no direct exchange: send the item back and order the replacement again. The refund goes back the way you paid, and depending on your bank it can take up to ten working days to show.

Payment
The shop lists Klarna invoice, Mastercard, Visa, Diners, Apple Pay and PayPal. With the Klarna invoice, questions about payment and refunds go to Klarna, not to the shop. Klarna also suggests extending the payment deadline by 10 days when you return something, which you have to do yourself in your Klarna account.
Using cashback
Open the Kastner & Öhler page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 1.75%) and the offers are listed with the date they were last checked. Press the shop button there, then shop and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback first shows as open and becomes confirmed once the shop has reported the order. If you send an item back, the share for that item is deducted.
Practical tips
- If your basket is just under CHF 149, compare the CHF 3,95 shipping fee with the price of one more item you really want.
- Living outside Switzerland? Change the country at the start, because the Swiss shop will not ship to your address.
- Finish the order in one visit and pause your ad blocker, otherwise the click can get lost.
