NordPass vs 1Password: Which Password Manager Is Better?

· 2026-09-17

NordPass vs 1Password: Which Password Manager Is Better? Both store logins in an encrypted vault, fill them in for you and work on all your devices. Which one is better depends on how many people share the plan and how you like to try software first. For cashback we recommend NordPass: it takes part in cashback with us, 1Password is not on our list, and NordPass names a 30-day money-back guarantee. 1Password counters with a 14-day free trial and room for five people on its family plan. Status October 2026, prices vary by country and date.

Cashback: NordPass yes, 1Password not with us

You find NordPass at NordPass at daily cashback. The rate listed there is tied to new personal subscriptions, and the page says that eligibility for renewals, upgrades and existing customers depends on the current offer. So read the conditions on the page before you buy a plan, especially if you already have an account. 1Password we do not list; a subscription there costs what its site shows and earns nothing from us.

How to buy so the cashback is recorded

Subscriptions are the product where the buying route matters most. Click through from the shop page, then subscribe on the NordPass website in the same session. Use the offer that the page names, or none at all. A promotional code from another site can make the order ineligible. When the order appears in your account it is pending; after NordPass confirms it, the cashback becomes payable. Note the 30-day money-back window at NordPass: using it means a refund, and the cashback goes with it.

Plans and seats

NordPass sells Premium for one user and Family for six accounts, each with a 1-year or 2-year term. The Free plan covers autosave and autofill plus secure storage, and the page also shows an included 30-day Premium trial. Multi-device access, Password Health, the Data Breach Scanner and file attachments belong to the paid plans. NordPass states that it encrypts your data with the XChaCha20 algorithm and works with a zero-knowledge architecture, and it stores passkeys.

1Password sells Individual for one user and Families for five users, billed monthly or yearly. Both include secure sharing, autosave and autofill, alerts for weak or compromised credentials and 1 GB of storage per user. Families adds shared vaults without a limit and simple admin controls. 1Password has a 14-day free trial of both plans without a credit card. Its current promotion applies only to new customers who subscribe directly on 1Password.com for the first year with annual billing, not through app stores. That matters for cashback too: a purchase made inside an app store cannot start from our shop page.

Price and renewal

Both vendors show the current price per month for the yearly option on their pricing pages, and both advertise a discount for new customers. Longer terms usually cost less per month, but the renewal price can be different from the first term, so look at it before you pay. Taxes depend on your country. For a fair comparison, put the first-term price and the renewal price of the plan you actually need side by side.

Who should pick what

Singles and couples who want cashback: a NordPass Premium plan bought via the shop page gives you the cashback on top of the 30-day money-back window. If you test it in the first month and keep it, the cashback is confirmed.Families of up to six: NordPass Family counts six accounts, 1Password Families five users. If you have a sixth person, NordPass is the only one that fits without a second plan.Testers: if you want two weeks of using the full thing before you pay, the trial at 1Password is the cleaner route. NordPass offers a free tier and a Premium trial, so a test is possible there as well.

Our recommendation

Take NordPass through its shop page if you are happy with its feature list, and use the first 30 days to test it. If you need the trial first or the 1Password interface suits you better, choose it on its merits; the one difference is that it earns no cashback via our site.

Quick takeaways
