Kombucha Kamp: shipping abroad, customs, final-sale cultures and cashback
Kombucha Kamp is a US shop for home fermenting. It sells kombucha cultures and starter kits, brewing vessels, heaters, teas and flavouring, and the shop describes itself as a small family business. It says it can ship to almost any address in the world, but the rules for cultures, customs and returns are strict. Read them before you order from outside the US.
Shipping inside the US
Free shipping applies to orders over $75 in the contiguous United States, sent by the cheapest rate and service. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and American Samoa have their own rule: free delivery above $75 only when the parcel weighs under 4 lbs. Continuous brewing vessels always carry a shipping fee, which depends on weight.
International delivery
The shop says it can ship to virtually any address in the world, with restrictions on some products that cannot go abroad. Brewer orders to non-contiguous states and international destinations may travel with USPS Ground Advantage or another service and need 2 to 4 weeks. Customs duties, import taxes including VAT, brokerage and inspection fees are the buyer's job. They are not in the product price or the shipping cost. The shop cannot guarantee clearance and is not responsible for delays or refusals at customs, so ask a broker or your customs office before you order.
Dispatch times
Most orders ship from California, and the shop also works with drop-ship partners across the US, so one order can arrive in several parcels. Orders ship Monday to Friday by 3pm Pacific time, and because the team is small they currently go out twice a week. Most continuous brew vessels ship immediately. Drop-ship items such as stoneware vessels, a digital refractometer and syrups come straight from the manufacturer and take 7 to 14 business days. A tracking email follows the dispatch. The shop closes in the last week of the year, and orders placed then ship on the first business day of January.

Returns, fees and cancellations
All sales of kombucha, jun and kefir cultures and kits are final once placed, and fermenting cultures cannot be returned. Most other new, unopened items and non-fermenting cultures can go back within 30 days of delivery. The shop pays the return postage only if the mistake is its own, for example a wrong or defective item. Many returns carry a 15 percent restocking fee, and brewers 20 percent, with a minimum of $5. Shipping fees are not refunded. If an item went out with free shipping, the shop deducts its actual outbound shipping cost from your refund. Brewers can be returned within 30 days if they are undamaged, in original packaging and complete, including the safety ring, spigot, washers, cloth cover and tea ball. Loose leaf teas, herbs and flavouring agents must be unopened. Heaters can be returned within 30 days and have a one year manufacturer warranty.
Orders are considered final once placed, and a cancellation fee of up to 20 percent of the order value can be deducted from your refund. If a package comes back because the address was wrong, resending costs a shipping fee of at least $8.
Subscriptions
Some products can be bought as a recurring subscription with a discount of up to 5 percent. You choose it at checkout, together with the delivery rhythm. Cancel or change it in your account or by email before the next billing date, as processed or shipped subscription orders are not refunded.
Cashback at Kombucha Kamp
Open the Kombucha Kamp page at daily cashback and press the shop button. The page shows the current rate (up to 25%) and the offers we check every day. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed once the shop has approved the order. If you return an item, its cashback is deducted. The page is the US one, so read its conditions if you order abroad.
Practical tips
- A kit or culture cannot come back, so check the product page twice before you pay.
- Outside the US, ask about duties first, because the shop does not cover them.
- Use only offers from the Kombucha Kamp page at daily cashback, as a promo code from another site can cost you the cashback.
