Renting skis at Skiset: pick-up, fees, cancellation and cashback
Skiset is a ski rental company based in Saint-Cloud near Paris, with shops at the foot of the slopes in several countries. You book skis, snowboards, boots and accessories online and collect them at the shop you picked, so nothing is shipped. This guide covers where the shops are, what the booking costs, the return time and the cancellation rule for the German-language site skiset.de.
Where you collect the equipment
The skiset.de homepage lists shops in France (316), Austria (93), Italy (73), Switzerland (30), Spain (19), Andorra (12), Germany (4), Bulgaria (3), Serbia (1) and Slovenia (1). The number depends on the period and destination. The site is also offered in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Dutch, Portuguese and Polish, and other Skiset country sites exist for the UK, the US and more.
How booking works
You choose the resort and shop, the dates, the equipment with or without boots and, if you like, breakage and theft insurance. Height, shoe size and weight let the team prepare everything in advance. After payment Skiset emails a voucher with pick-up and return times, and you show it in the shop as an email, booking number or QR code. The Selection option lets you choose a specific model up to 7 days before pick-up, but not every shop offers it.
Prices and fees
Prices are in euros or Swiss francs depending on the country and include VAT. There are no shipping costs, but each product carries a processing fee of 1.50 euros or 1.65 Swiss francs. According to the terms the seventh rental day is free. Groups of four or more get 5 percent off each set in taking part shops, with promo codes and partner offers excluded.
Returns and extra days
Equipment goes back by 10 am local time on the day after the last rental day. Every additional day is charged at the tariff displayed in the shop. If items are lost or unusable you owe their replacement value unless you took the insurance.
Cancelling
You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the first rental day and receive a full refund including the processing fee. Cancelling on the Saturday for a Sunday start gives no refund. The 14-day legal withdrawal does not apply if the rental begins within those 14 days. Illness or accident allows a pro-rata refund with a medical certificate once you return the gear. Started rental days, strikes, work reasons and travel problems are not refunded.

Using cashback
Open the Skiset page at daily cashback for the current rate (2.5%) and the offers with the date we last checked them. Press the shop button and book as usual. The cashback shows as open in your free account and becomes confirmed once Skiset has reported the booking. A cancelled reservation earns nothing, and a code from another site in the same visit can cost you the cashback.
Practical tips
- Enter size and weight when booking so the equipment is ready on arrival.
- If you are late for pick-up, tell the shop, because after 24 hours Skiset may rent the gear to someone else.
- Plan your dates so you can still cancel free of charge 24 hours before.
