Shopping at VerticalExtreme: delivery by country, returns and cashback
VerticalExtreme is a climbing and mountaineering shop from Holzkirchen near Munich, with an online store and a shop on site. It ships to a long list of European countries, and the delivery fee depends heavily on where you live. We read the shipping page, the payment page, the withdrawal information and the returns service page on verticalextreme.de in October 2026. This guide is for customers outside Germany, so it starts with the fees abroad.
Delivery cost by country
The shipping table on the site lists flat fees for DHL Paket:
- Germany: 4.95 euros under 60 euros, free from 60 euros
- Austria: 6.95 euros under 100 euros, free from 100 euros
- Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Norway: 19.95 euros flat, given as the net price without German VAT
- Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Denmark: 12.95 euros flat
- France, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia: 16.95 euros
- Lithuania, Romania, Cyprus, Spain, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Sweden, Bulgaria, Croatia: 21.95 euros
The United Kingdom is not on the list, so the shop does not state a delivery price for it. For Germany there is also DHL Express at 19.95 euros up to 3 kg and 27.95 euros up to 31.5 kg, and collection in the shop in Holzkirchen is free. Packstations are served by DHL, deliveries to P.O. boxes are not possible. The delivery time is shown on each product page, and the shop informs you as soon as it knows about a delay. For Switzerland and Liechtenstein the page links to separate customs information.
Returns
You have 14 days from receiving the goods to withdraw from the purchase. For orders placed between 5 and 24 December the shop extends the period voluntarily to 6 January of the following year. You can declare the withdrawal in writing or through the button "Vertrag widerrufen" on the website. According to the returns service page, a DHL return label is available on request, and a return with refund costs 8.95 euros within Germany and 16.95 euros from Austria and the Netherlands through the shop's label. The withdrawal notice itself says that you bear the direct return costs. Exchanging for another size, colour or length is free of charge.
Refunds go back by the payment method of the original purchase, at the latest within 14 days of the shop receiving your withdrawal notice. The shop may hold the refund until it has the goods back or has proof that you sent them. The page does not say what happens for countries other than Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, so ask the shop for a label price before you order from elsewhere.
Payment
The shop lists PayPal, credit card via PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay via PayPal, SEPA direct debit via PayPal and purchase on account via PayPal. The last two are limited to deliveries to Germany; the invoice option applies to orders between 5 and 2,500 euros and depends on a credit check by Ratepay. There is no surcharge for any method.

Using cashback
The VerticalExtreme page at daily cashback shows the current rate (up to 2.5%), the offers we found and the date of the last check. The page is in German. Press the shop button and order as you normally would. The cashback is listed as open in your free account and is confirmed after the shop has reported the order. A returned item reduces the amount for that item.
Tips
- A single parcel to Austria is free from 100 euros, so combine items into one order.
- Swiss and Norwegian prices are net of German VAT, so check the final price in your cart, including local taxes.
- If you are unsure about size, use the free exchange, but note that a return with refund from outside Germany can be costly.
