Kinship: worldwide shipping, prepaid duties, returns and cashback
Kinship is a Tokyo-based marketplace for Japanese luxury and designer fashion: jackets, knitwear, shoes, watches, bags and accessories. Pieces come from established retail partners, mostly in Japan. Every parcel is checked and then sent from a hub in Hong Kong, so delivery rules differ from a normal local shop. Prices on the site are shown in US dollars.
Where Kinship ships
The shipping policy says Kinship ships globally, except to a short list of countries and regions: Argentina, Bouvet Island, China, Christmas Island, Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk, Cuba, Heard Island, Hong Kong, Iran, Libya, Macau, McDonald Island, Mexico, North Korea, Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Thailand and Turkmenistan. PO boxes are not served. The shop works with FedEx, DHL and UPS Priority.
Shipping cost and customs
Orders above $300 ship free worldwide with express service. Below that, shipping costs $25. Duties and taxes are prepaid by Kinship, which means there is nothing to pay when the parcel arrives. Depending on the courier, you may need to sign for it.
How long delivery takes
Orders are usually processed within two business days. Many items leave the Hong Kong hub within 1 to 2 business days. Rarer pieces are first secured from a retail partner after you order, checked by an independent specialist and by Kinship's own quality team, which can push dispatch back. The shop gives a total delivery time of 5 to 10 business days, an average across all orders, and promises updates if yours needs longer. A shipping label email usually arrives within 3 to 4 business days. Public holidays and customs checks can add time.
Before dispatch you can cancel any unshipped order for a full refund. If you need another delivery address, write to the shop within 12 hours of ordering, because it cannot be changed once the parcel is in transit.
Returns and refunds
Retail customers can request a return within 14 days, counted from the day after delivery. The product has to be unused, in the condition you received it, and in the original packaging with all labels and accessories. You must request the return first, because items sent back without approval are not accepted. Returns go to the Hong Kong hub. The customer pays return shipping, and original and return shipping costs are not refunded. Exceptions are defective or wrong items and pieces sent in for an authenticity check, where the shop provides a prepaid label. After inspection the refund goes to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
Purchases made for resale are final sale and not covered by the 14-day return. Exchanges for another size or colour are possible, but you pay return shipping. A product that breaks after you have worn it is neither exchanged nor refunded. Report lost parcels and shipping damage within five days of the delivery confirmation, and a verified claim brings a free replacement or a full refund.

Using cashback
Open the Kinship page at daily cashback, where the current rate (3.5%) and the offers are listed with the date they were last checked. Press the shop button, then order and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed once Kinship has reported the order. A returned item reduces the amount for that item.
Practical tips
- If your basket is slightly under $300, compare the $25 shipping fee with one more piece you actually want.
- Check your country against the exclusion list before you fall for a piece, since Mexico, Thailand, China and Argentina are on it.
- Finish the order in one visit and pause your ad blocker, since either can break the click.
