Shopping at Gewürzland: shipping zones, returns and cashback
Gewürzland is an online spice shop with its head office in Vienna that sells to Germany, Austria and a wide range of other European countries. Its shipping page splits the world into three zones with very different conditions, so it pays to know where you fall before filling the basket. Below are the shipping costs, delivery times, payment options and the return rules, which are stricter than at a typical clothing shop because the goods are food.
Shipping zones and costs
| Zone | Shipping | Delivery time |
|---|---|---|
| Germany and Austria | 3.89 euros flat, free from 35 euros of goods | 99.23 percent of orders arrive within 48 hours of payment, according to the shipping page |
| Other EU countries | 30 euros per 200 euros of goods value | about 5 working days |
| Switzerland and England | 150 euros per 200 euros of goods value | about 5 working days |
In Germany and Austria the shipping is therefore cheap and quick. For the other zones the shop states its rate per 200 euros of goods value, so the checkout is the place to read the exact total before you pay. The EU zone covers Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Cyprus. All delivery times count from the order or payment date and can shift slightly at busy times or on public holidays.
Payment
You can pay in advance by bank transfer, quoting the order number. From an order value of 24 euros the shop also offers purchase on invoice with 30 days to pay, including Klarna invoice. PayPal works with your balance, a card or a bank account, and cards from Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express and Diners Club are accepted. Orders cannot be changed after they are placed, because the warehouse starts picking right away. Check the address and quantities before you confirm.
Returns and withdrawal
Consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day they receive the goods. You declare it by letter, by email or online, and you can use the sample form. The shop then refunds the payments, including the standard shipping, within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method. You must send the goods back within 14 days of telling the shop.
The returns page makes some limits clear. Returns are for private customers only; business customers have no right to return. Because food has strict hygiene rules, returned goods usually cannot be sold again, and the shop reserves the right to decline orders in individual cases. The withdrawal right does not apply to goods that spoil quickly or to sealed goods unsuitable for return once the seal is broken. The help centre adds that a product that simply does not match your taste is no reason for return or refund, so try small quantities first.
Contact and business customers
Questions go through the help centre, where you can ask about an order, a missing parcel, an invoice or a voucher. Phone lines are +49 30 403668690 for Germany and +43 720 884977 for Austria. For larger quantities, restaurants, resale or production there is a separate quote request.
Cashback at Gewürzland
The Gewürzland page at daily cashback shows the current rate (up to 10%) and the offers with the date of the last check. Press the shop button, then order as usual. In your free account the cashback is first open and becomes confirmed once Gewürzland has reported the order. A returned item reduces the amount for that item.
Practical tips
- If your basket is just below 35 euros in Germany or Austria, a small extra item usually costs less than the 3.89 euros flat shipping.
- Outside Germany and Austria, build the basket in one order and compare the final shipping line at checkout.
- Finish in one visit and pause your ad blocker, so the click is not lost.
