Saily vs Holafly: Which Travel eSIM Fits Better?
Saily vs Holafly: If you want a travel eSIM with cashback, take Saily, because we list Saily as a shop and not Holafly. The plans are built differently: Saily sells data in GB with a validity period, Holafly sells unlimited data per travel day. Which fits better depends on how much you use and how long you travel. Status October 2026.
Cashback at Saily, not at Holafly
Saily is with us: Saily at daily cashback. The shop page names the current rate. Holafly is not a shop of ours; an eSIM there earns nothing through us. We name Holafly here because many people compare both before buying.
How to buy the eSIM with cashback
- Check that your phone supports eSIM and look at your destination. See whether days of unlimited at Holafly look better to you than GB at Saily.
- Begin on the Saily shop page. A browser ad filter and open price comparisons disturb the assignment, so switch them off.
- Use the button to Saily and pick country and plan.
- Pay in one go. Soon after, the purchase appears as awaiting confirmation in your free account with us.
- Install the eSIM in the Saily app and time the plan so that it starts at your destination.
- When Saily has confirmed the purchase, your balance is released.
When the cashback is gone
- You get the purchase refunded. Refunded money earns nothing.
- You buy the eSIM from Holafly or another provider instead of through our Saily shop page.
- The way to Saily led through an outside page, so the purchase starts elsewhere.
- The click was caught by an ad filter.
- You use a discount code from elsewhere that overrides our assignment.
The differences in brief
Data model. Saily sells plans by data amount and days. For the Unlimited plan, Saily's Europe page names 5 GB a day without a speed limit, after which the connection runs at up to 1 Mbps. Holafly counts travel days and advertises unlimited data. If you only use maps, chat and mail, a GB plan is often enough; if you stream a lot, look closely at the terms of Holafly.
Start of the plan. Saily has an activation window of 180 days: the plan starts when you arrive at your destination or 180 days after purchase. Holafly writes that the plan begins once you turn on the eSIM at your destination.
Refunds. Saily refunds plans that were not activated in full within 30 days of purchase. An activated plan counts as used; a partial or full refund is considered for quality problems or when most of the data is untouched. Holafly allows up to six months to ask for a refund and names a change of plans, an incompatible device and connection problems. Money should arrive in three to five business days, says Holafly.
Top-ups and regions. With Saily you add data in the app. Regional plans bundle several countries but contain mobile data only, no calls or SMS. Saily offers a phone number as an add-on. For long stays Holafly names monthly subscription plans that you can cancel at any time.
Hotspot. Both allow sharing the connection. With Saily the shared data counts against your plan and fair use applies.
Device check. Both providers need an eSIM-capable phone that is not locked. Saily keeps a list of supported devices, Holafly a compatibility list. Look at both before buying, since whether your device fits can be settled in advance and is hard to fix on the road.
Before and after buying
Install the eSIM at home on wifi, not at the airport. Saily needs its app for that, Holafly installs by app or QR code. At your destination turn the eSIM on and enable data roaming for it. Hold on to the confirmation mail and order number until you are back.
If the purchase is missing in your account, write to our team and quote the order number. A Saily code is entered while paying and comes with its own terms. If unsure, rather skip it.
Who suits what
Short trip or little data use: Saily with a small GB plan, bought through the shop page.
A lot of streaming, hotspot for the laptop: Work out days and GB, and read the fair use notes of both providers.
Several countries on one trip: Check the country list of the regional Saily plan, and the coverage of the Holafly plan.
What we recommend
For a travel eSIM with cashback we recommend Saily through the shop page. Holafly can fit if you prefer unlimited data per day, though without cashback from us. More eSIM comparisons: Airalo vs Saily and Airalo vs Holafly.
