Kijou: where the monthly kids box ships, what it costs and how to stop
Kijou sends children a themed box of hands-on science and art projects every month. The shop's site is in French, and its shipping page names five countries. This guide covers what the shop says about delivery, billing and lost boxes, for families in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and Germany.
Where Kijou delivers
The shipping page lists France, Austria, Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg. The carrier for all five is DPD, and standard shipping is free at 0 euros per box. For France the shop adds that this fee applies to most of the mainland. Some postcodes in Corsica, the overseas territories and remote areas can carry extra postage, and the amount is shown in your order before payment is taken.
The boxes and the age bands
There are three boxes by age. La boîte à Merveilles is for children aged 3 to 4, La boîte d'Odyssée for 5 to 8 and La Boîte à Découvertes for 9 to 12. The youngest box comes with one project, an activity book and an activity guide. The 5 to 8 box has one or two science or art projects, a magazine and a guide, and the 9 to 12 box has one project, a magazine and a guide. In a subscription you cannot pick which projects arrive.
Dispatch and delivery times
The first box of a new subscription ships within 3 working days. For prepaid contracts, the boxes after that arrive in the second half of each month. With a monthly subscription every new charge counts as a new order and is processed within 3 working days. The terms add that real delivery times depend on stock, your address, the order date and the carrier. Boxes go out with several logistics providers, so proof of delivery may or may not exist.
Billing and stopping a subscription
Every order is billed in euros, and payment is taken in full when you order, through the shop's payment gateway providers. All subscriptions renew automatically. In your account you can review the box type, the delivery date and the length of the subscription. The homepage says you can change your mind or stop whenever you like. A second child in the family gets a 20% sibling discount on the homepage offer.

Lost boxes and complaints
If a box is lost or never arrives, the terms put the reporting on you: write to [email protected] within 14 days of the dispatch date. If you move, change the address in the subscription section of your account so no box goes to the old one. The same email address handles complaints about a product. Before you subscribe, ask support what applies if a box does not suit your child, because the terms only say to contact customer service.
Using cashback
Open the Kijou page at daily cashback for the current rate ($8.97), the offers and the date we last checked them. Press the shop button there and subscribe as you normally would. The cashback shows as open in your free account and turns confirmed once Kijou has reported the order. If an order is cancelled or refunded, the matching amount is deducted.
Practical tips
- Check the age band before you pay, since each box is built for one band.
- Finish the order in one visit and pause your ad blocker on the shop, as either can break the click.
- Keep other cashback and voucher sites closed while you order, because a later click can replace the first one.
