Range: specialist against variety
Ecovacs sticks to robotics: DEEBOT, WINBOT, GOAT and ULTRAMARINE are the four lines on its German site. Behind them sit a rewards club and its own app.

Dreame is broader. Its German shop sorts into robot vacuums, vacuums and cleaning devices, home and garden, large appliances, beauty, air purification and kitchen devices. If you want to equip several rooms from one brand, Dreame offers more. If you only want one good robot, you do not need that breadth.
Warranty: two years at both
Ecovacs Europe covers robot and battery for two years, with GOAT mowers getting three. Brushes and similar wear items are left out.
Dreame usually gives two years on robot vacuums as well, and the warranty table lists three years for a few models. Wear parts like filters, mops and brushes are excluded here too. In addition, Dreame lets you buy an extended warranty while the current one runs, one or two years or another term shown on the product page. The Ecovacs pages name no such offer.
Withdrawal: who pays for the return?
Here they differ noticeably. Ecovacs gives 30 days, but you pay the direct cost of sending it back. Dreame names the legal 14 days and says in its return terms that it bears the cost of the return, except for express deliveries.
In practice: a device you decide on quickly is easier to send back with Dreame. A device you only find out after three weeks does not clear your thresholds can still go back with Ecovacs. Read the terms of both sites before you run the device for the first time.
Price match and cashback
The Ecovacs price guarantee lasts a month from purchase: if the same model is offered cheaper in the German online shop of the maker, you get the difference refunded on request. Accessories are not covered.

There is no shop page for Dreame with us, so no credit there either. Returns and cancelled orders do not count, and a voucher code the shop page does not name can endanger the claim.

What to check before buying
Whatever the brand: measure the height of your door thresholds, because not every model climbs them. Plan a fixed spot for the station with room at the sides. Keep the invoice or receipt, as both makers ask for it in warranty cases. And note the purchase date so you do not miss the withdrawal period or the price match.
With Dreame the warranty runs from the purchase date with valid proof of purchase, and service is available in Germany and other countries such as France, Italy and Spain, per its page. With Ecovacs the warranty applies only in the European country where you bought the device. If you move often, keep that in mind.

Who suits what
Ecovacs is the pick if you want a long time to check that a robot fits your home and care about the price match. It is also the one to pick if you want cashback.
Dreame suits you if you want to be able to send the device back without fearing return costs, or plan an extended warranty. It also fits if you want a cordless vacuum or air purifier from the same brand as the robot.
Pet owners: look at the brush design on both, not just suction power. In daily use that matters more than the brand.
