Travel Overland: booking flights from abroad, payment rules, cancellations and cashback
Travel Overland is a German travel agency. Its site travel-overland.de sells scheduled flights, package holidays, hotels, cruises and rental cars, and it also runs branches in Germany. It is a service, not a shop, so there is no delivery of goods. What matters for an international customer is who may book, how to pay, what happens with tickets and what a change costs. We read the customer service page and the FAQ on scheduled flights in October 2026. Some of the FAQ text looks older than the rest of the site, so confirm the details during booking.
Can you book without a German address?
Yes. The FAQ says you do not need a residence in Germany. Two things change when you book from abroad. First, if documents have to be sent by post, the courier costs for sending them can be added, and the FAQ names 25 euros for this under the heading of shipping costs. Second, the payment options are narrower, as described below. The site and the service are in German.
Payment
For scheduled flights the FAQ lists credit cards (American Express, Visa and Mastercard), instant bank transfer and PayPal. Only cards issued in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Norway, Sweden or Luxembourg are accepted. Direct debit from foreign accounts is not possible and neither is a normal bank transfer. Some card payments carry a surcharge, which is shown when you pick the method. The amount is charged immediately after booking, because airlines expect the ticket to be issued at once, and you cannot pay in parts. A friend or family member may pay with their card if the card holder confirms it in writing first.
Tickets, confirmation and low-cost airlines
Scheduled-flight tickets are electronic only. After booking and payment you receive the ticket document by email. First you get a mail that your request has arrived, and within 24 hours a second mail confirms the ticket. If nothing arrives, check your spam folder and contact the service team. Low-cost airlines are shown in the same list, but you book directly in the airline's system, the airline handles confirmation and charges the fare, and Travel Overland adds a separate service fee of 10 euros per person, which it collects from your card.

Changes and cancellations
You change or cancel by email or phone, and the service desk is open on weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00. Whether a flight can be rebooked depends on the fare. A rebooking is treated as a cancellation followed by a new booking, and the fee can be up to 100 percent of the ticket price including taxes. The exact figure is in the fare conditions or on your confirmation. Courier and ticket service charges are not refunded. A name cannot be changed once a ticket is issued, and a ticket cannot go to another person. If you do not take the outbound flight, the airline cancels the rest of the trip.
Using cashback
Open the Travel Overland page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to $5.05) and the offers we found are listed with the date they were last checked. Press the shop button, then book and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as pending and becomes confirmed once Travel Overland has reported the booking. A cancelled or refunded booking reduces or removes the amount for it.
Practical tips
- Check your card's country of issue before you start. A card from another country is turned away.
- Look at the fare conditions before paying, since they decide what a change costs.
- Arrive at the airport early. The FAQ recommends at least 120 minutes on international flights.
- Finish the booking in one visit and keep other cashback and voucher sites closed.
