Aviasales vs Kiwi.com: Where Are Flights Cheaper?
Aviasales vs Kiwi.com: with which of the two do you earn on a flight? Good news: both have a shop page at daily cashback. Aviasales comes first for us, because you quickly see offers side by side there and then buy from the seller. Kiwi.com is the alternative when combined flights are cheaper for your route. More important than the choice of site is the sequence: the click from our page must come right before the purchase. Status: October 2026.
The shop pages
For Aviasales there is the Aviasales shop page with the current rate, and the Kiwi.com shop page sits next to it. Both rates can change and are not equal. If the rate decides it for you, open both pages and compare the current values on the same day. Calculate with the final price, not with the rate alone.

Where you buy
On Aviasales you do not buy from Aviasales but from the seller it displays. That confirmation is what matters for your cashback. On Kiwi.com you buy from Kiwi.com itself. That makes matching simpler, as there is only one site, but with combined flights you must expect more effort, for example with baggage and transfers.
The sequence
- Decide beforehand on one of the two and open only its shop page.
- Follow the button to the provider and search your route.
- Buy in the same session. A second window with the other site disturbs the matching.
- Keep the confirmation email.
One special case: you cannot use both routes at once. If you click through Aviasales first and then switch to Kiwi.com, you have visited another price site between click and purchase. Tracking needs a click right before the order, with no other price or voucher sites in between.
Confirmation and payout
Straight after buying, an open entry appears in your account. For Aviasales the cashback becomes payable once Aviasales has confirmed it, for Kiwi.com once Kiwi.com confirms the booking. We calculate cashback on the net value after vouchers, excluding taxes. Payout is by PayPal once you reach the minimum balance named on the shop page.
If you cancel
The same rule applies to both: cashback exists only for orders the shop keeps. Cancellation, refund or chargeback lead to the entry being declined or reversed. On Aviasales the seller deals with rebooking and refunds, and some fares allow neither. Kiwi.com distinguishes three ticket types, and only the most flexible gives back a larger share of the price on cancellation. The cashback does not come on top in either case.
Kiwi.com adds a particular point: if you do not take a flight and do not cancel, you can try to claim taxes and charges back from the airline. After a waiting period Kiwi.com takes care of it and keeps a fee for that. We cannot say how such a refund is booked against your cashback. All we know is that flying is the least worrying option.
Discount codes
On Kiwi.com you enter a promo code in the last step. Our shop page names the permitted promotions, and other codes can put the cashback at risk. The same holds for Aviasales. If you hold a code, work through both routes.
Adding up price and cashback
Cashback is a bonus on your bill, not a substitute for a good fare. Work out which route leaves you more in the end, because a price gap in the total can be bigger or smaller than the gap between cashback rates. So keep both totals side by side: with baggage, with a seat, with the extra you really need. Only then look at the shop pages. And keep the risks in mind: a cheap but self-connected flight with a tight transfer ends up dearer if you have to buy a new flight.
Cashback compared
| Question | Aviasales | Kiwi.com |
|---|---|---|
| Shop page | yes, German and English | yes, English edition |
| Who sells | airline or agency | Kiwi.com itself |
| Entry in the account | open first, then confirmed | open first, then confirmed |
| Basis of calculation | net value after vouchers | net value after vouchers |
| On cancellation | cashback falls away | cashback falls away |
| Do-it-yourself transfers | rather the exception | a frequent part of routes |
Our recommendation
Start with Aviasales if you do not yet know a route and first want to see what the sellers ask. Reach for Kiwi.com if the connection there is clearly cheaper and you can organise the transfer yourself. In both cases the rule holds: one site, one click, one session.
