Lensmart glasses: shipping by country, returns on custom lenses and cashback

Lensmart (lensmartonline.com) is an online store for prescription glasses, sunglasses, reading glasses and contact lenses. Prices and shipping are in US dollars, and the shipping policy lists dozens of countries with their own fees and delivery times. Because prescription glasses are made to order, the return rules differ from a normal webshop. This guide sums up the details.

How long an order takes

Delivery has two parts. Processing, which includes making the lenses, takes 3 to 10 business days. Shipping then takes 3 to 23 business days depending on the method you choose. For progressive lenses the shop says DHL Express to the United States typically takes 8 to 12 business days after ordering, while standard shipping takes about 15 to 23 business days.

Shipping costs and free shipping

Orders over $69 ship free, excluding remote areas. Below that, the fee depends on destination and method. A selection from the policy table:

In the US there is also Advanced Shipping for $9.95 with 7 to 12 business days. For Canada the same option takes 7 to 16 business days. Delivery to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico is only offered through DHL Express. The table also covers countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and South and Central America, each with its own rate. Standard shipping to Denmark, Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Zimbabwe is marked as suspended. DHL charges extra for remote areas: $53.95 shipping in the US, $58.95 in Canada and $92.95 in South Africa. Delays are possible during bad weather, peak season or because of national policies.

Returns, replacements and warranty

Lensmart gives a 365 day warranty from the day the parcel is signed for, covering clear defects in material and workmanship with a one-time replacement. Glasses are customised items, so the shop says they cannot be replaced or returned for non-quality reasons, and glasses on special sale are non-returnable and non-exchangeable.

For other returns of unused products in original packaging within 30 days, the shop sets a refund scale. Within the first 15 days the refund is 70% of the lens price and 100% of the frame price. From day 16 to day 30 it is 50% of the lens price and 80% of the frame price. If the order had free shipping, the shipping fee is deducted. The person who starts the return or replacement pays the freight. Refunds reach the original payment account in 3 to 7 business days. Shopping points awarded for the order are withdrawn.

Contact lenses are final sale for health reasons. Only items with a manufacturing defect can be replaced, and you must report them within 15 days of delivery. To start any return, email the shop or write on Facebook or Instagram with your order number. Do not send anything back without informing the team first.

Changing or cancelling an order

Unpaid orders are valid for three days. For paid orders, contact customer service after ordering. If the glasses are already shipped and in transit, a refund request only returns 70% of the order amount, and you must send the glasses to the warehouse after receiving them.

Payment and support

Refunds are made to the original debit or credit card or to PayPal. Customer service is open Monday to Saturday from 4:30 pm to 1:30 am the next day Pacific time.
