Shopping at Daniel Wellington: country stores, returns, warranty and cashback
Daniel Wellington is a Swedish watch and jewellery brand based in Stockholm, and its webshop runs as a set of country stores. That is the main thing to know when you shop from outside Europe: shipping options, prices, payment methods, currencies, languages and stock differ from store to store, and the shop says so itself. Here is what the terms and the return policy fix for everyone.
Country stores, shipping and duties
You pick your country in the selector on the site, and the shop then shows the shipping options that exist for it. A banner announces that free shipping is available, and the final cost and delivery options are calculated at checkout. Prices on the site include VAT. For an address outside the EU, VAT is removed at checkout, but you may then owe import duties and taxes when the parcel arrives. Daniel Wellington has no control over these charges and cannot predict them, so it advises you to ask your local customs office.
Payment
You can pay by Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro or Apple Pay, plus Bancontact in Belgium and iDEAL in the Netherlands. Customers in Germany, France, Italy, Austria and Finland can also use Klarna. PayPal is offered in Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal, Hungary, Poland, Spain and Denmark. Card payments are handled by Shopify Payments, and there is no extra charge unless your bank adds one. The checkout lists what is available in your country.
Returns and refunds
You can return products bought on the website within 30 days of receiving them. Returns are free for all products except earrings, which can only be returned or exchanged if they are faulty. The watch or jewellery must be unused, in its original packaging with labels, films and the protective pouch, in the same condition as when it arrived. Start the return by registering it on the returns page, repack the product and send it to the warehouse; a local retailer cannot take it. Free gifts from a promotion must go back with the order.
Refunds normally take 7 to 10 business days after the parcel has arrived and been unpacked, checked and approved, and the payment provider can add time. Purchases from the Black Friday and holiday campaign can be returned until 17 January. The terms add that customers in areas where the national postal service offers no returns may have to pay the return postage themselves.
| Topic | What the site says |
|---|---|
| Return window | 30 days from receipt |
| Return postage | Free, except in areas without a postal return service |
| Refund | 7 to 10 business days after inspection |
| Warranty | Two years from purchase |
| Non-EU delivery | VAT removed, import duties paid by you |
Warranty
The warranty runs two years from the date of purchase and covers manufacturing defects on the watch itself, meaning movement, case and crystal. It does not cover other parts, damage from misuse or accidents, normal scratches, or battery replacement. Use the contact form on the Contact Us page with name, address, order number and a description, and put "reclaim of purchase" in the subject. Daniel Wellington pays the return shipping for warranty claims.
Cashback at Daniel Wellington
Open the Daniel Wellington page at daily cashback, where the current rate (4%) is shown with the offers we check every day. Press the shop button and order as usual. In your free account the cashback first shows as open and becomes confirmed once the shop has reported the order. If you return a watch, the cashback for it is deducted.
Practical tips
- Choose the right country store before you fill the basket, because shipping, price and payment options follow it.
- The shop's promo codes only count if you enter them at checkout; one entered after the purchase is not honoured.
- Keep the protective pouch and all films until you are sure you keep the watch.
- A code from another site can replace the cashback click, so leave other cashback or voucher tabs closed.
