Getflix: plans, 3 day free trial, cancelling and cashback
Getflix is a Smart DNS and VPN service for streaming, run by C Telekom, Inc. There is nothing to ship, so the questions that matter are different: what plans exist, how the free trial and renewal work, what you get back when you cancel and how to pay. This guide collects those answers from the Getflix pricing page, FAQ and terms of use.
What Getflix does
Getflix re-routes only some of your connections through its servers. Its Smart DNS sends requests for streaming services such as Netflix or Hulu via a US server, so the service sees a US address, while the rest of your browsing is left alone. The video itself is streamed directly from the service to you. A VPN, by comparison, sends all your traffic through an overseas server and encrypts it. The Getflix FAQ says that every active account comes with a free, optional Full VPN, and that DNS-over-VPN, which helps on hotel or public WiFi, is free with all accounts. The terms point out that the service does not give complete anonymity or protection against every threat.
| Topic | What the service says |
|---|---|
| Free trial | 3 days, cancel before the end and nothing is charged |
| Renewal | Automatic until you cancel |
| Cancellation | Any time, no refund for unused time |
| Payment | Cards, PayPal |
| Devices | PCs, phones, smart TVs, media players, consoles |
Plans and free trial
The pricing page lists a one month plan at $5.95 per month, three months at $15.89 in total, six months at $27.85, one year at $44.98 and two years at $62.83, and a lifetime plan for a single payment of $149.00. It starts with a 3 day free trial, and you can cancel during the trial without being charged. The pricing page adds that the VPN is not part of the free trial. If you do not cancel in time, the account is charged, and the service says it emails you before this happens.
Auto-renewal and cancelling
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same plan at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The terms of use say you cancel through customer support before the renewal date, and that a charge after a missed cancellation is not treated as fraudulent. The payment shows on your statement as C Telekom, Inc. The pricing FAQ says you can cancel at any time, but no refund is given for unused time on the subscription. The shop may change prices, and it says it notifies you ahead of the next billing cycle so you can cancel if you disagree. If you own two or more accounts, you can ask support for a 25 percent discount on the additional ones.
Payment
The pricing page accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal and JCB through its payment gateway.
Using cashback with Getflix
Open the Getflix page at daily cashback, where the current cashback (up to 25%) is shown. Press the shop button and sign up from there. In your free account the cashback is listed as open and turns confirmed once Getflix has reported the sign-up. If the payment is cancelled or refunded, the amount is deducted. A code from another site can cost you the cashback, so keep other cashback and voucher sites closed while you sign up.
Before you sign up
- Note the end date of your trial, because the first charge follows automatically.
- Decide on a plan length with the no-refund rule in mind.
- Contact support through the contact page to cancel or ask about extra accounts.
