Aviasales vs Skyscanner: Where Can I Find Cheap Flights?
Aviasales vs Skyscanner: where are flights cheaper, and do you get money back? On the ticket price alone neither site is ahead for every route, as both show prices from airlines and agencies that keep changing. On cashback there is a plain difference: Aviasales has its own shop page at daily cashback and Skyscanner has none. That is why we recommend Aviasales if you want something back on a flight. Here is how it works, status October 2026.
Where cashback exists
For Aviasales we have a Aviasales shop page. The current rate is shown there, and that is also where your path to the search begins. For Skyscanner we run no shop page. If you search and book there, you get no cashback from us and nothing more to do. That says nothing about Skyscanner's quality; we simply cannot offer a reward for it.

How to do it
- Open the shop page first, not the search engine.
- Click through to Aviasales and search for your flight as usual.
- Pick an offer and buy from the seller Aviasales sends you to.
- Finish the purchase in the same session, without opening other price or voucher sites in between.
For context: Aviasales does not sell tickets itself. You buy from an airline or an agency, and their confirmation is what counts for your cashback. Your price stays the same; the reward comes from the partner network and we credit it.
When cashback is confirmed
After the purchase an entry with the status pending appears in your free account. It turns confirmed once Aviasales has checked and confirmed the booking. Payout through PayPal needs a minimum balance, and the shop page names the exact figure. Allow some patience, since the check runs through the partner network and not through us.
Cancellation, refunds and cashback
If you hand the ticket back or get a refund, there is no cashback either. The entry is then declined or reversed. That applies to every refunded order. So before buying, check whether your fare can be changed or refunded at all. By the Aviasales help page that depends on the fare and the airline rules, and some fares exclude refunds and exchanges entirely. Questions about that go to the seller, not to us and not to Aviasales.
If you like Skyscanner anyway
Many people compare on Skyscanner first. That is fine, but the actual purchase should not start there if you want cashback. Note down the date, route and fare, then open the Aviasales shop page and search the same connection again. Whether the same seller and the same price turn up, we cannot predict. Same fare means same baggage, same change rule and same final price. Only then is the switch worth it.
Skyscanner labels do-it-yourself connections as Self-transfer. You then usually hold two tickets with separate rules. Cashback is not affected, but a missed connection can cost you a new flight.
Pitfalls we see often
For a purchase to be matched, the terms on our shop page ask for a click from our page shortly before buying, cookies switched on and no discount site afterwards. An ad blocker can swallow the click, so turn it off for the purchase. The Aviasales search form also has a tick box that opens Booking.com in a new tab. Leave it off for your flight search, because every extra site between click and purchase can disturb the matching.
If you began the search days ago, start afresh for the purchase. An old tab showing yesterday's price gives you neither the current fare nor clean cashback. And keep the seller's confirmation email, since with it our support can trace whether and where the booking landed.
Cashback side by side

|---|---|---|
| Shop page at daily cashback | yes | no |
| Where you buy | at the seller Aviasales shows | at a Skyscanner partner |

| Voucher codes | only those listed on the shop page | not applicable |
| Cookies and click path | click from our page right before buying | not applicable |
What we recommend
If your flight is booked with a seller anyway, take the route through Aviasales and our shop page. You get the same kind of search, can filter for fares with baggage and receive cashback on top. If you want to decide without cashback, use Skyscanner as a second source, best for the month view and price alerts.
