Shopping at MINOX Boutique: international delivery, duties, returns and cashback

MINOX Boutique is a luxury fashion retailer in Oxford that sells designer labels online and ships them worldwide from its UK warehouse. Where MINOX ships

The shop says it delivers parcels all over the world with DHL Express. The country selector lists 154 countries and territories, including Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, Australia and Japan. It does not deliver to P.O. boxes. Prices are shown in a local currency for many countries, for example euros for Germany and Austria, Swiss francs for Switzerland, US dollars for the USA, Canadian dollars for Canada and pounds for the UK. Delivery cost and time

The shipping policy sets the following prices:

  • UK: 8 pounds for orders under 300 pounds, free express shipping from 300 pounds
  • EU: 25 to 30 pounds
  • Rest of the world: 30 to 45 pounds, depending on the country

The shop aims to deliver within 1 to 2 business days in the UK, 2 to 4 working days to other European addresses and 3 to 7 working days to the rest of the world. These are aims, not promises. The final stretch is handled by the local postal service of the destination country, and the shop asks you to allow up to 15 working days. DHL sends email and SMS updates and lets you choose the time and place of delivery through its On-Demand Delivery service. A tracking link comes in the shipping notification.

Import duties and VAT

The shop ships from its UK warehouse. If duties and taxes apply to your country, you can pay them at checkout. A 5 pound admin fee is added when you pay up front, and in return the shop covers the customs clearance costs. Every parcel carries an official invoice on the outside that states the value of the goods, as customs rules require. For orders outside the UK the return policy adds that import duties and taxes are not refunded.

Returns

MINOX accepts returns within 15 days of delivery. Items must be unused, unworn and in the condition you received them, with the original packaging and the brand and MINOX tags still attached. Shoes need clean soles, and home items such as candles, diffusers and ceramics cannot be returned or exchanged. You start a return in the Returns Centre with your order number and email. Within the UK the shop sends a DHL label by email once it approves the return, and a fee of 8 pounds is deducted from the refund.

For international returns you email the shop. The return shipping cost equals what you paid to have the order delivered, and it is deducted from your refund. The shop cannot refund the original shipping, return shipping, import duties or taxes on orders placed outside the UK. If an item is faulty or the shop made a mistake, send photos; in that case the shop pays shipping and duty and tax fees.

Payment

The payment page says the shop accepts Visa and Mastercard, processed through Stripe. A banner on the site also advertises Klarna.

Tips

  • With the international return fee equal to your outbound shipping, an order to the EU or beyond is expensive to send back. Be sure about size before you pay.
