Renting a car with TUI Cars: cancellation, deposit, cashback
TUI Cars is the car rental brokerage of TUI Deutschland GmbH in Hannover. You book a rental car for a destination abroad, and the local rental partner hands over the keys. Because it is a service and not a shop, shipping does not matter here. What counts is where you can rent, what is included, the deposit, cancellation and payment. We read the FAQ and the start page on tuicars.com in October 2026.
Where you can rent
TUI Cars offers rental cars in many countries, and the FAQ refers to Cuba, Israel, Cyprus, Austria, Australia, the USA, Canada and Germany among others. Use the destination search on the site to see where you can rent. The website is available in German, English, Dutch, Polish and French. The extra liability cover of 7.5 million euros that includes the USA and Canada applies only to customers with their usual residence in the European Economic Area or Switzerland.
You always book a vehicle group, not a particular model. The cars shown are examples of the equipment and performance in that group.
What the price includes
The shop says its prices are all-inclusive. As a rule the following is in the rental price, according to the terms of each provider:
- Fully comprehensive insurance in all countries except Cuba, with the excess either removed or refunded. Damage to tyres, glass, roof and underbody is covered, unless there is gross negligence or driving under the influence.
- Motor liability insurance including an extra liability cover
- Lost or damaged car key and vehicle papers, towing costs after an accident or breakdown
- Unlimited kilometres, with a few exceptions, and local taxes
- Airport service and fees, except in Israel, Cuba and Cyprus
Extras such as passenger insurance, child seats, young driver fees or a one-way rental are usually paid locally in the local currency.
Deposit, age and documents
At pick-up you leave a deposit, usually at least the value of a tank of fuel plus the excess. In most countries it must be a real credit card in the main driver's name. Prepaid cards are refused. The minimum age is generally 21 with a licence held for at least 12 months, and drivers under 25 may pay a fee. Bring the voucher, the original driving licence of every driver, an ID card or passport and a credit card with PIN. In some countries an international driving licence is required.
Cancellation
You can cancel or rebook a car free of charge until 24 hours before pick-up, with the exception of Go North in Alaska. After that the shop charges 80 percent of the rental price, and there is no refund for early return or late collection. Motorcycles from EagleRider have their own scale, free until the 31st day before pick-up and then from 40 percent of the rental price upward.
Payment
You can pay online with TUI Card, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, PayPal or SEPA direct debit up to 500 euros total. A bank transfer is possible if pick-up is at least 30 days away and the total does not exceed 500 euros.

Cashback
Open the TUI Cars page at daily cashback, where the current rate (4%) and the offers we found are listed. Press the shop button, then book and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open first and becomes confirmed once the booking has been reported as completed, which usually happens after the rental. A cancelled booking cancels the cashback as well.
Practical tips
- Check the deposit in the provider's terms before you book and make sure your card limit covers it.
- Photograph the car at pick-up and note the fuel level, so the fair fuel rule works in your favour.
- Use one discount source only. A code from another site can replace the cashback click.
