Buying Paragon Software: licences, updates, support and cashback
Paragon Software Group builds disk and file system tools: Hard Disk Manager for Windows, NTFS for Mac, APFS for Windows, Backup and Recovery for Mac, and drivers for Linux and Android. With software, shipping matters less than the licence type, updates, support and what happens if you want your money back. This guide goes through what Paragon publishes on each.

Which licence fits
A single licence is for one permanent installation on one system, with unlimited use. You may not rent it out or pass it on. A volume licence is priced from two up to several hundred units and covers as many systems as you buy; more licences can be added within one year at the same discount. Site and enterprise licences cover a company location or the whole company, and their price is calculated on request. Schools and students can ask for the educational programme, which offers a discount on all products.
IT staff who look after several computers should look at the technician licence. It lets one licensed person use the software on a set number of systems, but only on one system at a time. Per Seat and Per Roll-Out models are meant for classrooms, internet cafés and system builders. The end-user licence agreements are linked from the support page.
Where you can use it
The site comes in many languages, including German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Japanese. Details on supported systems are shown on each product page, so check them before you buy, especially for NTFS for Mac with a new macOS version.
Updates and upgrades
Registered customers get updates of the current version free of charge, downloaded from the Paragon Licensing Center account. A new major version counts as an upgrade; it is free within one month after purchase, except for special promotions. After that you contact sales, and a cross upgrade lets you move to another Paragon product. An upgrade assurance for 1, 2 or 3 years gives you every new release in that period.
Support
Full versions come with complimentary support, which covers the two most recent releases and is reached through the web. The first response is promised within 1 to 3 business days. Enterprise Level Support answers within 4 business hours and per-incident support within 2 business hours, and both also take telephone calls. You open a ticket in the Licensing Center account or write to [email protected]. Free versions have a knowledge base and a user forum.
Withdrawal and warranty
The terms are those of Paragon Technologie GmbH in Freiburg. A consumer may return goods within two weeks without giving a reason. Software is excluded once the sealed packaging has been opened. For services, including downloads, the right ends early if Paragon starts with your express consent before the period is over, or if you start them yourself. Refunds are due within 30 days. Prices include VAT, and invoices are due immediately. Statutory warranty claims run for two years from delivery. Questions about a return go to [email protected].
Using cashback
Open the Paragon page at daily cashback for the current rate (up to 4%) and the offers, which we check daily. Press the shop button, then order and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback first shows as open and becomes confirmed once Paragon has reported the order. If you cancel or the order is refunded, the cashback is deducted.
Practical tips
- Decide between a single and a technician licence before you pay; moving a single licence to a second computer is not part of the deal.
- Install and activate soon after buying, because the free upgrade window is one month and the withdrawal period is short.
- Keep other voucher and cashback sites closed while you shop, since a later click can replace the first one.
