Booking with Lidl Reisen: who you contract with, cancellation and cashback
Lidl Reisen is a German travel booking site run by Lidl Digital Trading GmbH & Co. KG in Neckarsulm. It sells package holidays, hotels, round trips, cruises and holiday homes. It is a service, so nothing is shipped, and the points that matter are who the contract is with, which language the booking is in, and what happens when you cancel.
Who you book with
Lidl Reisen acts as an intermediary. When you book, you sign a contract with Lidl Digital Trading for the mediation, and a second contract with the actual provider, for example the tour operator, airline or hotel. The provider is responsible for carrying out the trip. Payments are made to the provider, according to its own terms, and the payment details are on the invoice you receive after booking.
Can you book from outside Germany
The booking terms state that bookings through the website are made in German only, and customers must be at least 18. Phone bookings go through the service centre on 030 25 55 95 51 daily from 8 to 21, which is a German landline number, so calling costs depend on your phone provider. Rail & Fly, if you book it, covers travel to departure airports within Germany, including Salzburg and Basel Euro-Airport.
Booking, option booking and changes
Your booking becomes binding when you press the "pay now" button at the end of the online booking process. If you book by phone, you can ask for an option booking: for the next 3 working days you can change or cancel it free of charge, and after that it turns firm. To change a booking or cancel it, contact the service centre by phone or by email. Even small corrections can cost money, so report mistakes quickly.
For package holidays, the law lets you withdraw before the start of travel at any time, and the provider may then ask for reasonable compensation. If extraordinary and unavoidable circumstances hit the destination, no compensation can be demanded. You can also name a third person to take your place, no later than 7 days before departure. Names of travellers can usually be changed only for a fee.
Travel documents and insurance
Your documents normally arrive no later than one week before departure. Lost confirmations can be sent again by phone or email. The shop recommends travel insurance and offers a protection product during online booking, together with its partner ERGO. Entry and visa rules are your own responsibility, and the FAQ points to the German Foreign Office for current rules.
Best price guarantee
For top offers from the current flyer, Lidl Reisen promises to refund the price difference if you show within 3 days of booking that the identical trip is cheaper elsewhere. Reduced trips from special discounts at an operator or agent are excluded.

Using cashback
Open the Lidl Reisen page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 2%) and the current offers are listed with the date they were last checked. Press the shop button there, then book and pay as you normally would. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed once Lidl Reisen has reported the booking. A cancelled or reduced trip lowers the amount.
Practical tips
- Keep your booking number ready when you call the service centre.
- Check traveller names at once, because changes after booking usually cost money.
- Check passport and visa rules for your destination before you pay.
- Finish the booking in one visit and pause your ad blocker on the site, because either can break the cashback click.
