Shopping at SEALAND: shipping, orders from abroad and the 100-day return

· 2026-10-15

SEALAND is a German online shop for functional clothing, maritime fashion and casual wear, based in Ascheberg in North Rhine-Westphalia. It advertises a 100-day return right and personal service by phone. For international readers the interesting part is the delivery abroad, because the shop's own pages do not agree with each other. We read the shipping page, the returns page, the payment page and the terms on sealand24.de in October 2026. The shop can change them, so check again at checkout.

Shipping within Germany

Shipping is charged once per order: €9.90. Bulky goods add a freight surcharge of €24. Orders go out with DHL, and the shop says it usually dispatches the parcel on the day after the next. If an item is not in stock, the shop tells you the expected date, and the subsequent delivery is free of postage. Partial deliveries happen only if sold-out items are missing for more than 2 to 3 weeks.

Customers with an account can use the 24-hour express service. If you order by 12:00 and the goods are in stock, delivery is guaranteed for the next working day, for a surcharge of €24 per delivery. The surcharge is also due if you later return the goods. Express does not run on public holidays or between Christmas and New Year, and bulky items are excluded.

Delivery abroad: two statements

The shipping page says: "We gladly deliver abroad." Within the EU the German VAT is charged, outside the EU it is not. Delivery is made unpaid by the shop against prepayment or cash on delivery, the minimum order value is €50 and freight costs are borne by the recipient. For orders from EU countries other than Germany and from Switzerland, the shop adds a separate freight flat rate of €86. Other countries on request.

The terms, in section 1.11 "Deliveries abroad", say the opposite: delivery is only possible to an address within Germany, and deliveries abroad are not possible. Both texts are live at the same time. Until the shop clears this up, assume that foreign orders need an agreement first. Write to customer service with your address and basket before you pay, and do not rely on the checkout alone.

Returns

SEALAND grants an unrestricted right to return of up to 100 days after receipt, on top of the statutory right of withdrawal. Sending the goods back in time is enough to keep the deadline. You bear the cost of the return in the amount of the original shipping costs, and the shop refunds the purchase price. The shop accepts returns only through DHL: you hand the parcel in at one of the 28,000 DHL or Deutsche Post branches or give it to your DHL courier. Other carriers travel at your own risk.

Payment

The payment page lists invoice, credit card, direct debit, PayPal and Klarna, all free of charge. Invoice is available only to customers with an existing account and gives 14 days to pay. In some cases the shop may ask for payment on delivery or a deposit instead, depending on a credit check.

Using cashback

Open the SEALAND page at daily cashback. It shows the current rate (up to 0.75%) and the offers we found, each with the date it was last checked. Press the shop button there, then browse and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback first appears as open and turns confirmed once SEALAND has reported the order. A returned item reduces the amount for that item.

A few practical tips

  • Order everything in one basket, since the €9.90 is charged once per order and each return costs the same amount again.
  • Use DHL for returns. The shop does not accept other carriers.
  • Outside Germany, get the shipping cost and customs treatment confirmed in writing first.
  • Finish the order in one visit and pause your ad blocker, as either can break the click.
