Shopping at GlocalMe: shipping by country, customs, data plan vouchers and cashback
GlocalMe sells portable WiFi hotspots, SIM cards and data plans for travel, operated by uCloudlink. The devices connect to local networks in many countries, which makes the shipping page more interesting than usual: it lists the countries the shop delivers to, in five price groups. This guide sums up the shipping rules for the hotspot devices, taxes, returns and the data plan voucher.
Shipping costs by country
For the hotspot device the shop sorts countries into five groups. Ground shipping is free on orders from €69 in the first two groups, and orders are normally dispatched within one business day after payment.

Refurbished devices have their own list. The United States gets free ground shipping, Hong Kong has express shipping, and all other countries pay €29.90 for standard international shipping in 7 to 10 days. Remote areas take longer, and the delivery date is the shop best estimate, not a guarantee.
Customs and taxes
For orders from Germany, France, Italy and Spain, you do not pay additional taxes at checkout. For UK orders above £135, VAT and customs duties are not collected at the point of sale, and the customer pays them on receipt. The shop adds that it can keep or deduct part of a refund when an order comes back because the customer did not pay customs duties.
Data plans and rentals
A data plan, with or without a device, comes as a voucher code by email within 24 hours after the order is processed. You redeem the voucher in your GlocalMe account, so give a valid email address. The shop also rents devices. Rental shipping is offered to the United States and selected European countries, and the parcel is sent 7 to 10 business days before the start date.
Returns and refunds
You can ask for a refund or replacement within 30 days of dispatch if you are not satisfied. The device has to come back in perfect condition, in the original packing and with a copy of the receipt. If a bundle includes a data package that you have already activated and used, its value is deducted from the refund. The shop says the refund is credited within 10 business days after it confirms receipt, and your bank may need 3 to 10 more days.
Return shipping is for your account unless the item differs from its description. Defective, damaged or wrongly shipped items are replaced free of charge. A data package can be refunded within 30 days after the voucher was sent, as long as the voucher is unredeemed. A redeemed voucher is not refundable. Orders can be cancelled before dispatch.
Cashback on GlocalMe orders
Open the GlocalMe page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 10%) is shown. Press the button, shop as usual and pay. The cashback shows up in your free account as open and turns confirmed once the shop has reported the order. A refund reduces it again, so decide on a bundle before you activate the plan.
Practical tips
- Order the device a few days before your trip, because standard international shipping takes up to ten business days.
- Activate the data package only when you are sure you keep the bundle, since a used package is deducted from a refund.
- Finish the order in one visit and keep other cashback or voucher sites closed, otherwise the click can be replaced.
