Shopping at Farnell: delivery in the UK and Germany, returns and cashback
Farnell is a distributor of electronic components, tools and test equipment for engineers, workshops and hobbyists, and it belongs to the Avnet group. The company runs one web shop per country, such as uk.farnell.com and de.farnell.com, and each has its own delivery terms. We read the UK and the German delivery and returns pages in October 2026. Prices and thresholds can change, so the basket shows the figures that apply to you.
One shop per country
Farnell lists dozens of country sites, among them the UK, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, India, China and more. Normally you order on the site of the country you receive the parcel in. If you want a delivery abroad, for example from the German site to another address, the shop asks you to phone first, because export fees and security checks have to be clarified. The German help page gives +44 8701 200 208 for that.
Delivery cost in the UK
Standard delivery takes 1 to 2 business days. It is free for orders of £40 and above and costs £8.99 for orders under £40. Express delivery arrives the next business day by 1 pm and costs £11.99. Extra options exist on request: delivery before 9 am for £23.90, express before 10:30 am for £14.90 and Saturday express before noon for £19.90. Items from the US warehouse in Newark cost £15.95 shipping per order, covering handling, duty and airfreight.
Delivery cost in Germany
The German shop delivers standard orders in 2 working days. Shipping is free from 75 € and costs 11,99 € below that. Express shipping for the next working day by 1 pm costs 14,99 € for every order. There is no minimum order value, and standard and express cover parcels up to 30 kg. Orders from the Newark warehouse take 2 to 3 working days and cost 25 € per order including duty and airfreight. The banner at the top of the German pages mentions free delivery from 50 €, which differs from the 75 € on the delivery page, so check at checkout.
Returns
You need an RMA number before you send anything back. Request it with the online form, write the number on the outside of the parcel and note that parcels without one are refused. In Germany the return period is 21 days: the goods must be back with Farnell within 21 days of dispatch. At its own discretion the company takes back unwanted or wrongly ordered items, and charges a minimum handling fee of 20 % of the invoice or 10 € plus VAT, whichever is higher. Items sold as non-cancellable and non-returnable, items outside the catalogue and custom orders cannot be returned. Newark products can only go back under warranty. Prices on the German site exclude VAT, as the terms are written for business customers.
Payment
According to the German terms, Farnell offers payment by invoice or by credit card. An invoice is due within 30 days. With a credit card the full amount is due at once and the order is released after authorisation. The shop may refuse certain methods for individual orders.

Using cashback
Open the Farnell page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 1.25%) and the offers we found are listed with the date they were last checked. Press the shop button, then shop and pay as you normally would. In your free account the cashback shows as pending and becomes confirmed once Farnell has reported the order, normally after the return window. A returned product reduces the amount for that item.
Practical tips
- Place the order before the cut-off time (17:00 for UK stock) if you need same-day dispatch.
- Check whether the parts come from the Newark warehouse, because those items are not returnable.
- Finish the order in one visit and pause your ad blocker on the shop, as either can break the click.
