co:sim travel eSIM: destinations, refund rules, payment and cashback
co:sim sells travel eSIMs: digital SIM profiles that give your phone mobile data abroad without a physical card. Nothing is shipped, so the points that matter are different from an ordinary shop. You want to know where the plans work, what happens if you install too early, when you get your money back and how you pay. This guide goes through the co:sim site and its refund policy.
Where the plans work
The site offers data plans for 200+ destinations. Besides single countries, it lists regional plans: Global with 196 areas, Europe with 33, Asia with 18, North America with 3 (US, Canada and Mexico), Latin America with 17, Middle East and North Africa with 13 and Africa with 29. Popular destinations such as Finland, Spain and Italy show prices from $0.99, and the store counts more than 40 plans for many of them. The site lists plans in US dollars. Data Only plans are the ones on sale today. They cover mobile data only, with no voice calls or SMS, though apps like WhatsApp or Skype work over the data connection.
Getting and installing the eSIM
After payment you receive an email with the QR code right away. If it does not arrive within five minutes, check the spam folder or contact support. You scan the code in your phone settings while connected to Wi-Fi. co:sim suggests installing one or two days before departure and not switching on data roaming until you arrive. For most Data Only plans the validity period starts when you first connect to a network at the destination, for a few it starts at installation, and the checkout page shows which. Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier unlocked. The shop names iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer and Google Pixel 3 and newer as examples.

Refunds
You get a full refund within 30 days of purchase as long as the eSIM is not installed yet, meaning you have not scanned the QR code. Once it is installed, even if not yet activated, the self-service refund is closed. Support can still look at a case by case request, and a technical problem on co:sim's side leads to a refund or replacement. Not refundable are device incompatibility, deleting the eSIM by mistake and plans marked Billing Starts at Purchase. Top-up data for an existing eSIM is also not refundable, and plans obtained through promotions at no cost are not refunded in money.
For the request, open My Plans in your account, find the order and click Request Refund. Self-service refunds are limited to 2 in any rolling 30-day period. Discount coupons used on the order are not reinstated. After approval, card and Apple Pay or Google Pay refunds take 5 to 10 business days, Alipay and WeChat Pay refunds 3 to 7 business days. If a network operator reviews the refund first, do not install the eSIM meanwhile, because using it can lead to a decline.
Payment
The site names card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay and WeChat Pay. The FAQ adds Amazon Pay, UnionPay and JCB. Which methods you see depends on region, currency and device and is shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe over an encrypted connection. A receipt can be downloaded from My Plans, and a formal invoice comes from support.
Using cashback
Open the co:sim page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 5%) and the offers are listed with the date of the last check. Press the shop button, then choose your plan and pay as you normally would. In your free account the cashback shows as open and turns confirmed once co:sim has reported the order. A refunded order reduces the cashback again.
Practical tips
- Check eSIM support and the carrier lock on your phone before you buy, because incompatibility is not refunded.
- Do not scan the QR code until you are sure you keep the plan. An installed eSIM loses the easy refund.
- Keep other cashback and voucher sites closed while you buy. A later click can replace the first one, and a code from another site can cost you the cashback.
