HalloBabysitter in Germany: membership prices, cancellation and cashback
HalloBabysitter (hallobabysitter.de) is a German platform where parents look for babysitters, nannies and similar childcare, and where sitters create profiles. The company has been around since 1999 and sits in Göttingen. It is a service, not a shop, so nothing is posted to you. What matters is what the memberships cost, how long you are tied in, how you cancel and where the service works. We read the pricing page, the FAQ, the terms and the safety page in October 2026.
Where can you use it?
The platform is built for Germany: the site language is German and the selector shows Germany. The service is offered in Germany. The operator also runs babysitter.at for Austria, which is a separate site. The childcare itself has to be in a region where sitters are listed, so look at the search before paying.
What does it cost?
Registering, posting a request and browsing profiles is free with the Basis plan. To contact sitters you need a paid membership. Premium costs 29 € per month, monthly cancellable, with no minimum term, and gives you unlimited contact with sitters, suggestions, an interview checklist, an ID check for your own profile and a sample childcare contract. Premium Plus costs 149 € per month, also with no minimum term. It adds active matching, a replacement service if your childcare falls through, priority phone and email support and a tax registration through a partner. All prices include VAT. Messages can only be read if at least one side has a Premium membership.
Cancelling and withdrawing
You can cancel at any time to the end of the month, with one click in your account under Settings. Email or the cancellation button in the account also work. The terms add a statutory right to withdraw within 14 days. You can declare it in writing or with the online form on the contact page. Because Premium is a contract for a service, check the withdrawal text in the terms if you have already used the paid features.
Payment
You can pay by credit card (Visa and Mastercard), SEPA direct debit or PayPal. Payments are encrypted. The shop also has a page for redeeming vouchers.
How safe is it?
The operator says every profile and every request is read by its team in Göttingen before it appears, with a note saying under review until then. Members can add an ID check, and the first message always goes through the platform without sharing contact data. The page is honest about the limit: no platform can fully vet people, so meet the sitter first and ask for references.

Using cashback
Open the HalloBabysitter page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 15%) and the offers we found are listed with the date they were last checked. Press the shop button, then sign up and pay as you normally would. In your free account the cashback shows as pending and becomes confirmed once the platform has reported the order, normally after the withdrawal period. If you withdraw or the payment is refunded, the cashback for it is deducted.
Practical tips
- Start with the free Basis plan and look at the sitters nearby; upgrade only when you have found profiles you want to contact.
- Pay the membership only to the platform and never through links in a chat.
- Finish the sign-up in one visit and pause your ad blocker on the site, as either can break the click.
