Manni olive oil: free express delivery, import taxes and returns

Manni is an Italian producer of organic extra virgin olive oil from Tuscany, sold directly online from Rome. Oil is heavy and fragile, so delivery rules matter. The shop's banner promises free express delivery within North America and Europe on larger orders, and the country selector offers many more markets. Here is what the shop's own pages say about delivery, returns and payment.

Free express delivery and shipping costs

The banner at the top of every page reads: free express delivery within North America and Europe for orders above 130 USD, not including any current import taxes. For smaller orders, the terms say you see the price of the products including shipping costs once you pick your geographical shipping area and before you complete the order. So the basket tells you the exact figure.

Where the shop sells

The country and currency selector at the bottom of the page lists, among others, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and most EU countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland. Prices are shown in the currency of the market you choose, for example US dollars for the United States and British pounds for the United Kingdom. The free-delivery offer is stated for North America and Europe only.

Dispatch and tracking

Manni ships orders twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday, on the first available date after the order arrives. Once your order is dispatched, a Track my order link lets you follow the parcel. The terms ask you to inspect the delivery and check that the bottles are intact before signing the delivery documents. You can have the parcel delivered to a person other than the buyer.

Import taxes and duties

The free-delivery offer excludes any current import taxes. Whether such charges apply to your country is not spelled out, so ask the team at [email protected] before you order if it matters to you.

Returns and cancellation

The refund policy accepts returns of unopened products within 30 days of delivery. You get a refund minus the cost of shipping. Tell the shop why you are returning the bottles and send the unopened box to the address in Rome given in the policy; you can reach the team at [email protected] or by phone on +39 06 9727 4787.

The terms also describe a statutory right of withdrawal: within 14 days of receiving the product, without giving a reason, by certified email or registered letter. The product has to be returned intact, which means not opened, tampered with or adulterated, and the refund follows within 14 days of the shop learning that you are withdrawing. If a product arrives defective, Manni will replace it or refund the price including shipping costs. To cancel an order before it is prepared for shipment, email [email protected].

Payment

Payments run through NEXI for cards or through PayPal. A card is charged when the order is prepared for shipment. The shop does not see your card details when you pay with PayPal, and refunds to a PayPal payment go back to the same account.

Cashback with Manni

Open the Manni page at daily cashback, press the shop button and order as usual. The current rate is 5%, and your account first shows the purchase as open and later as confirmed.
