Shopping at Framily: shipping to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and why books can't be returned
Framily from Hamburg prints personalised children's books, calendars and stationery to order. Because every item is made for one child, the usual shipping and return rules work differently from a normal shop. The shop delivers to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and shipping prices include VAT and customs fees. This guide sums up what the shipping page, the help pages and the withdrawal page say.
Delivery countries and shipping prices
Standard shipping is a flat rate per order, regardless of how many products you buy. It is 4,90 euros to Germany, 5,90 euros to Austria and 6,90 Swiss francs to Switzerland. The rates include statutory VAT and customs fees. If you want tracking, DHL parcel shipping costs 6,90 euros to Germany, 9,90 euros to Austria and 16,90 Swiss francs to Switzerland.
From an order value of 50 euros, shipping is free. If your order contains a stationery item such as a calendar, a school cone or invitation cards, the country-specific price for tracked shipping applies.
| Country | Standard shipping | DHL with tracking |
|---|---|---|
| Germany | 4,90 EUR shipping | 6,90 EUR shipping |
| Austria | 5,90 EUR shipping | 9,90 EUR shipping |
| Switzerland | 6,90 CHF shipping | 16,90 CHF shipping |
How long it takes
Each book is produced after your order, so count with 5 to 7 working days for a book and 7 to 10 working days for a calendar. Then comes the post. You get a shipping confirmation by email, and a few days later the parcel arrives. The shop has no express option. If the parcel has not arrived 10 days after the shipping confirmation, contact customer service.
Delivery address and gifts
At checkout you can enter a different delivery address, for example the one of the person who receives the gift. The invoice then comes to you by email. Once the parcel has been shipped, the shop cannot change the address any more. The shop also offers gift packaging.
Returns and changes
Personalised items are made to your details, so the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to them. Your order goes to the printer straight after you pay, and a change or cancellation is not possible afterwards. Check names, photos and texts carefully before you finish the order. Unpersonalised items can be sent back after they arrive, and you pay the return postage. Once the goods arrive at the shop, you get the amount refunded.
If a product has a printing or grammar mistake that is not caused by your own entries, or a parcel arrives damaged, write to [email protected] with a photo.
Payment
You can choose between PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard, Visa, Klarna, Shop Pay, eps and Union Pay. With purchase on invoice, which is handled by Klarna, the invoice details follow by email from Klarna once the order has shipped.
Using cashback
Open the Framily page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 3%) is shown. Press the shop button and order as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed once the shop has reported the order. A returned item reduces the cashback for that item.
Tips
- With two books or a book and a calendar in one basket you are closer to the 50 euro line, from which shipping is free.
- Pay attention to the spelling of the child's name before the last click.
- Order early for birthdays, because the production time of 5 to 7 working days is followed by a few more days in the post.
- Keep other cashback or voucher sites closed while you order.
