Shopping at ELV: shipping to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, returns, cashback
ELV Elektronik AG from Leer in Germany sells smart home technology, parts and tools for electronics projects and publishes the ELVjournal. It runs a German shop at de.elv.com and a Swiss shop at ch.elv.com. We read the pages on shipping costs, returns and payment in October 2026. The shop can change its terms, so confirm the figures at checkout.
Delivery countries
The shipping page names three countries: Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Customers in Germany and Austria order from the euro shop. Swiss customers get a separate shop where invoices are issued in Swiss francs including Swiss VAT, and the German page points to it. Readers elsewhere in the EU, the UK or the US should ask the shop before ordering.
Not every product can go to Austria or Switzerland. Because of national standards, some devices are not delivered there, partly equipment that connects to the telephone network and radio transmitters and receivers. Products approved Europe-wide under CEPT-LPD may be sent. The shop writes to you if an item in your order is affected.
Shipping cost by country
| Destination | Standard shipping | Free shipping from |
|---|---|---|
| Germany | 3.99 EUR flat shipping fee | 39 EUR order value, then free |
| Austria | 3.99 EUR flat shipping fee | 39 EUR order value, then free |
| Switzerland | CHF 5.99 flat shipping fee | CHF 69 order value, then free |
For smaller orders the shop charges the flat fee, from the threshold up it pays standard shipping itself. The German page states this for standard deliveries inside Germany. Check the article page for the delivery time before you order.
Returns and withdrawal
The shop takes back items that do not meet your expectations within the 14-day withdrawal period. The easiest route is your account: open Mein ELV, choose the order, press the button to send items back, pick quantity and reason, and choose between refund or repair. You print the return slip, add it to the parcel and use the DHL label as a PDF or as a QR code at a parcel shop, branch or Packstation. Guests can start a single return online with their email address and order number.
Remove your own memory cards, drives, cables and batteries from the device first. The refund goes to the payment form you used when you ordered.
Payment methods
ELV accepts Mastercard and Visa, SEPA direct debit, PayPal and prepayment. Card payments are limited to a total of 1,000 EUR per order. For direct debit, the first order has to be placed with your bank details, and the amount is debited on the day of delivery. PayPal is only offered for items that are in stock and ready to ship, and a refund lands in your PayPal account, not directly on your bank. The shop collects card payments immediately after the order.
Using cashback
Open the ELV page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 3%) and the offers we found are listed with the date they were last checked. Swiss readers use the page for Switzerland at ELV for Switzerland. Press the shop button and order in the same browser session. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed once ELV has reported the order. A returned item reduces the cashback for that item.
Practical tips
- For Switzerland, compare the CHF threshold on the Swiss shop with the euro prices.
- Check approval notes on radio devices before ordering to Austria or Switzerland.
- If you subscribe to the shop newsletter for its voucher, remember that a code from another source can cost you the cashback.
