Shopping at ClearanceXL: delivery zones, delivery times, refunds and cashback
ClearanceXL is a UK online shop for surplus and clearance stock: food and drink, pet food, toiletries, cleaning products, toys, clothing and more. Prices are low, so the delivery charge matters more than usual. Here is how the shop's own delivery page and terms describe postage, delivery times, payment and refunds.
Delivery charges by zone
ClearanceXL uses a weight based UK delivery system. What you pay depends on the weight of your order and your postcode zone, which you check on a map on the delivery page. You then choose how quickly the parcel should arrive. Items marked as Free Delivery Items are the exception.
| Zones A and B | Charge per parcel |
|---|---|
| Next day service | £9.99 shipping |
| 1 to 5 day service | £7.99 shipping |
| 7 to 30 day service | £5.99 shipping |
Those prices apply to parcels of up to 60 kg and also to parcels above it. For zones C, D and E the delivery page lists £13.75 (C), £15.50 (D) and £14.75 (E) for parcels up to 30 kg, and £10.50, £13.75 and £12.75 per parcel above 30 kg. The page shows a last update of January 2023, so treat the final shipping price at checkout as the one that counts.
How long delivery takes
The FAQ gives standard delivery as 1 to 5 working days, or 1 to 30 days depending on the service you pick. Premium delivery is next day if you order before 3pm the day before. Saturday delivery is not guaranteed, so a premium order placed on Friday arrives on the next working day. Weekends and bank holidays do not count. The terms add that delivery is without undue delay and within 30 days at most. Deliveries are made by a third party courier, and you need to be over 18 to accept one.
Where it delivers
The delivery page describes a UK parcel system, and the shop is aimed at UK customers. If you live elsewhere, for example in Germany or Ireland, ask the shop by phone or email before you order, because the delivery page only lists UK zones.
Payment
You pay online by credit or debit card. The terms say payments are processed by Sage Pay, so the shop does not see your card details. There is no minimum spend, so a small basket is possible, although the delivery charge then weighs heavily.
Refunds, credit and cancellations
You have 30 days from the invoice date to get a refund and 60 days to receive credit on your account. DVDs, CDs, computer games and other recordable media cannot be returned. If you change your mind you can cancel under the shop's cancellation process and return the order at your own cost, unopened and undamaged.
The shop sells short dated and out of date stock, with the dates written in the product description. It says it cannot refund an item because of its date, so read the dates before you pay. It does not sell food or drink past its use by or sell by date.
If anything is missing, damaged or opened in transit, contact the shop within 24 hours of receiving the order, with photos. If an order comes back undelivered, the shop can send it again for new postage, or refund the goods without the postage cost.
Contact
The terms list the telephone number 01302 714495 and the address Unit 1 and 4, Misson Mill, Bawtry Road, Misson, Doncaster, DN10 6DP.
Using cashback
Open the ClearanceXL page at daily cashback, where the current rate is shown (2.5%). Press the shop button, then fill your basket and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed after ClearanceXL has reported the order. If you send an item back, the cashback for it is deducted. A click on another cashback or voucher site during the same visit can replace the first one.
Practical tips
- Pick the delivery service in the basket and compare the next day, 1 to 5 day and 7 to 30 day price.
- Check the best before dates in each description.
- Open the parcel soon after it arrives, since problems must be reported within 24 hours.
- Combine items in one order to share the parcel charge.
As of October 2026. The shop can change its terms, so check the basket before paying.
