GearUP game booster: devices, free trial, cancellation, refunds and cashback
GearUP is a game booster: software that routes your game traffic along optimised paths to reduce ping, packet loss and jitter. It is a service, so there is nothing to ship. What matters is where and on which devices it works, how the membership and free trial behave, and what happens if you cancel or want your money back. This guide sums up what GearUP says on its site and in its user agreement.
What you get and where it runs
GearUP says it supports more than 3,000 games and has over 8 million monthly active users. It describes its product as connection optimisation only, with no changes to gameplay. The home page lists Windows, iOS, Android, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PICO and Oculus Quest. Console players use the GearUP Router product, which boosts console and PC games. Mobile players use the mobile app, and a Windows version is available as a free download. A free ping test on the site shows your real ping and how much GearUP could cut it before you download.
Trial, membership and renewal
A membership may start with a free trial. The user agreement gives three days as the usual length, or whatever is stated when you sign up. Billing of the membership fee starts when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel, and you do not get a reminder when the trial turns into a paid period. To cancel, open the subscriptions section of your account or phone settings and choose cancel. The agreement also says your payment method may be authorised for up to roughly twelve months of service when you register, which can reduce your available balance for a while, even though nothing is charged if you cancel during the trial.
Cancelling and refunds
As a rule, purchases are final and non-refundable unless the terms or the law say otherwise. Partly used periods are not credited as far as the law allows. For customers in the EEA, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, the agreement gives a 14-day window from the first transaction to cancel a subscription and ask for a refund, even after you started using it. The refund can be reduced pro rata for the days used. Virtual points and goods are excluded from refunds once delivered.
| Topic | What GearUP says |
|---|---|
| Free trial | 3 days, or as stated at sign-up |
| Renewal | Automatic until you cancel |
| Cancel | Account or phone settings, under subscriptions |
| EEA, CH, UK refund | Request within 14 days of the first transaction |
| Platforms | Windows, iOS, Android, consoles, Steam Deck, PICO, Quest |
Team plan and pricing region
A team plan lets one owner share seats. The owner alone decides about renewal and cancellation, and members lose access when the plan expires. Members must be in the same pricing region as the team owner to join, so your country matters for which plan and price you see.
Hardware
GearUP also sells the HYPEREV router. For hardware the agreement points to separate shop terms: you may cancel within 24 hours of purchase before it ships, and a defective product can be reported within 30 days of shipment. Outside the United States a confirmed defect leads to a refund, not a return.
Support
The support centre has guides for Windows, mobile and HYPEREV, plus pages on high latency, packet loss and error 30006.
Cashback
Open the GearUP page at daily cashback, press the shop button and sign up or buy in the same visit. The cashback rate (35%) is shown there. In your free account the reward appears as open and becomes confirmed once GearUP has approved the purchase. A refund or cancellation within the refund window removes the cashback for it.
Before you buy
- Cancel before the trial ends if you only want to test it.
- Check the pricing region shown for your country.
- Keep other voucher or cashback sites closed while you sign up.
