jAlbum: licence or storage plan, trial, cancelling and cashback
jAlbum is photo gallery software: you build web albums on your computer or in the browser and publish them either on your own website or on jAlbum's own storage. Because it is a digital product, there is nothing to ship. What matters is which licence or storage plan you choose, how the licence works and what happens when a subscription ends. This guide covers that, based on the jAlbum pricing page, FAQ and terms of service.
Licence or storage plan
jAlbum sells two kinds of products. A licence unlocks the desktop application, and you upload the finished albums to a website you already have. A storage account (Premium, Power or Super) includes web space on jalbum.net and a licence in the same package.
| Product | What you get |
|---|---|
| Free version | Galleries limited to 24 objects |
| Standard licence | Valid forever, 12 months of free updates, private use, priority support |
| Pro licence | Valid forever, 12 months of free updates, commercial use, shopping cart skins |
| Premium account | 10 GB web space, Standard licence included, private use |
| Power account | 100 GB web space, Pro licence included, commercial use |
| Super account | 300 GB web space, Pro licence included |
Storage plans run for 1, 12 or 24 months, and the current prices are shown on the pricing page at checkout. Several licences can be bought with a multi-user discount: 25% for 2 to 10 users, 35% for 11 to 50 and 45% for 51 to 100 users.
How the licence works
The licence is personal, but you can install it on any number of computers. You activate it by signing in to the application with the same username you bought it with, or by entering your User Identification Code under Help, Activate License. The application needs internet access for that, and if you tick Remember me it keeps working offline afterwards. A licence applies to albums made with the current version, so rebuild older albums if you want ads and credit links gone. You can keep using your current version indefinitely, though future operating systems may not be supported.
Trial, expiry and cancelling
The free trial account holds 10 GB, about 50,000 web-sized photos, and expires after 30 days. Albums on it are kept for another 30 days after expiry and then removed. If a Premium or Power subscription runs out, your albums are not deleted at once, but you cannot view them or publish new ones until you renew. The terms of service allow either side to end the service with one month of notice and state that jAlbum keeps fees already paid. After a major change to the service you have 14 days to terminate. Questions about accounts go to [email protected], support questions to [email protected].
Where it works
The desktop application is available for macOS and Windows, and there is an Online jAlbum version in the browser. Online jAlbum needs a storage account, since the albums live on jalbum.net. The site itself is offered in many languages, among them German, English, Spanish, French and Italian.
Using cashback
Start from the jAlbum page at daily cashback, where you find the current cashback (up to 5%) and the offers we check every day. Press the shop button and then buy your licence or storage plan as usual. In your free account the cashback appears as open and becomes confirmed once jAlbum has reported the purchase. If a purchase is cancelled or refunded, the cashback for it is deducted. Use only offers from the shop page, because a code from another site can cancel the cashback.
Practical tips
- If you already own a website and hosting, a licence is enough. You only need a storage account if you want jalbum.net to host the albums.
- Choose Pro rather than Standard if you charge your own clients, since commercial use requires it.
- Sign in before you make an album, otherwise it may not show on your profile.
