Booking flights with Ovago: currencies, cancellation rules and cashback
Ovago is a flight booking site run by TripRobotics Inc. in California. It sells tickets from more than 500 airlines, so there is no parcel to ship. What matters here are the countries and currencies it works with, the cancellation rules and what a change costs. This guide goes through those points before you book.
Languages and currencies
The site is available in English (US), German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese. At checkout you can pay in US dollars, euros, pounds sterling or Canadian dollars. If your bank account uses another currency, pick one of these four and the bank converts it. Ovago points out that your bank may add international transaction fees and uses its own exchange rate.
Paying for a ticket
Ovago accepts credit and debit cards issued by American Express, Mastercard, Visa or Discover. Card payments are completed online over a secure connection. You have 10 minutes to finish the payment, and the help page asks you not to reload the page or use the back button while it runs. After payment you receive a confirmation together with your e-tickets as PDF files.
Cancelling within 24 hours
For cancellations within 24 hours of booking, Ovago processes the request free of charge, but the page says this applies exclusively to the US market. Low-cost carriers, non-US markets and reservations made less than a week before departure can be restricted by the airline. Bookings issued in the Canadian or European market might not get the full refund. To cancel you call (888) 457-4490, receive a confirmation email and wait up to 10 business days for the refund to post.
Cancelling or changing later
After the first 24 hours every passenger-initiated cancellation counts as voluntary. A partial refund is possible depending on the fare rules and any bundle you bought. You pay the airline's penalty per ticket plus Ovago's own refund processing fee, which is waived only if you bought the CFAR product or the Travel Protection Plan and meet its conditions. Requests have to be made at least 24 hours before departure, and unused tickets must be claimed within 12 months of purchase.
Changes follow the fare's exchange policy. You pay any fare difference, an airline rebooking fee if the carrier charges one, and a processing fee that depends on your package. Changing the passenger, the airports, the country or the airline is not allowed.
Schedule changes and cancelled flights
When an airline cancels a flight or changes it significantly, Ovago offers alternatives and tells you as soon as it knows. If the airline grants a full refund, Ovago starts the process but keeps a Schedule Change Handling fee of $50 per ticket unless your package says otherwise. Price Drop Protection is an add-on that checks the fare for 24 hours after booking and shares a lower price with you.

Using cashback
Open the Ovago page at daily cashback for the current rate (up to $6.5) and the offers with the date we last checked them. Press the shop button, search for your flight and book as usual. The cashback shows as open in your free account and becomes confirmed after Ovago has reported the booking, which for flights usually means after travel. A cancelled booking earns nothing, and a code from another site in the same visit can cost you the cashback.
Practical tips
- Book from the US site if you rely on the free 24-hour cancellation, since other markets may be treated differently.
- Check the fare rules before paying, because non-refundable tickets are excluded from refunds.
- Keep your order ID and passenger surname, you need both to retrieve a booking.
