Shopping at Big Green Smile: shipping to DE, AT and CH, returns and cashback
Big Green Smile is an online shop for natural cosmetics, baby products and household items with an eco focus. Orders are sent from Belgium, but the German site is written for customers in Germany, and the delivery rules reflect that. This guide covers what you need to know about Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and the pages themselves are in German.
Shipping costs to Germany, Austria and Switzerland
To Germany the shop charges a flat 5,95 € shipping per delivery, whatever the quantity or weight. From a goods value of 60 € the delivery is free. Shipping to Austria costs a flat 13,89 € per parcel. For Switzerland the shop delivers only through its partner meineinkauf.ch. You register there, and the German delivery terms apply plus the terms of meineinkauf.ch.
Surcharge on small orders
There is no minimum order value, but there is a surcharge. It is 6 € for goods values from 15,00 € to 24,99 € and 4 € for 25,00 € to 34,94 €, and it disappears from 34,95 €. Order values are calculated after any discount and without shipping costs, so a discount can trigger the surcharge.
Dispatch and delivery time
Orders placed until noon usually ship the same day, later ones on the next working day. The carrier is DHL, climate neutral. The parcel usually arrives within 2 to 5 working days, and delivery to Austria can take a little longer. You get an email with a tracking code that should work within 24 hours. If nobody is home, the parcel goes to a branch or parcel station and is sent back to the shop after 9 days without pickup. You can also give a DHL parcel station as the delivery address.

Returns
You can return products within 60 days of receiving them, provided they are unused, in original condition and in the original packaging. You register the return through customer service or the return form, stating your order number and the items. You receive a return label. Return costs equal to the shipping costs are deducted from your refund, except for defective, damaged or wrong products. You get either a refund of the amount paid for the goods or a voucher code for that amount. After checking the returned parcel, the shop pays within 14 working days via the payment method you used. Returns because of late delivery are not accepted.
If a parcel arrives damaged, send the DHL accompanying note or a photo of the contents, the goods and the outer box, under 1 MB, to the shop so it can arrange a replacement or refund.
Payment
You pay with PayPal, credit card (Visa, Mastercard) or Klarna. Purchase on invoice runs through Klarna within Germany and Austria, from an order value of 10 €, with the billing and delivery address in the same country. Klarna needs a phone number for it.
Using cashback
Open the Big Green Smile page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 2.5%) and the offers are listed with the date we last checked them. Press the shop button, fill your basket and pay as usual. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed after Big Green Smile has reported the order, normally after the return period. A returned item reduces the amount for that item.
Tips before you order
- Fill the basket above 60 € or at least above 34,95 € and shipping or the small-order surcharge falls away.
- Give an address where someone can take the parcel during the day, or choose a parcel station.
- Finish the order in one visit and pause your ad blocker on the shop, as either can break the click.
- Keep other cashback and voucher tabs closed while you shop, since a later click can replace the first one.
