Shopify vs Wix: Which Store Builder Is Better?
Shopify vs Wix: Which Store Builder Is Better? If selling is the point, Shopify is the one to pick. If you need a website with a few sales features, Wix gets you started for less. We recommend Shopify for merchants, since payments, team seats and sales channels are graded inside its plans, and we run a cashback shop page for it. Status October 2026, prices as shown by the providers.
Where cashback applies
We have a Shopify shop page (UK) and a US version. They show the current rate and the conditions. We do not list Wix, so a Wix plan earns no cashback from us at the same price. Which plans count as an eligible purchase is set on the shop page, so read it before you buy.

How a purchase with cashback runs
Reach Shopify via the shop page, leave your ad blocker disabled and complete the sign-up in a single sitting. Your cashback then shows as pending in your account until the retailer checks it. The shop page says it is calculated on the net amount after vouchers and discount promotions, excluding taxes. A voucher code or promotion can therefore lower the value.
Refunds and cashback
Wix states a 14-day money-back guarantee on all premium plans. If you use it, Wix repays you and the cashback for that purchase would fall away. Shopify offers a 3-day free trial, and its pricing page names €1 a month for 3 months as a starter offer. If you want to test, decide first and then buy through the shop page.
Plans and prices
Shopify has four plans. Basic costs €24 a month on annual billing and €32 on monthly billing, which is the discount for committing a year. Grow costs €69 and Advanced €289 a month on annual billing, which is a discount on monthly billing, while Plus starts at €2,100 a month. Wix starts at €14 a month for Light, with Core at €25, Business at €34 and Business Elite at €149. Every Wix plan includes a free domain for the first year. Prices apply to a yearly term and exclude taxes.
Payments and fees
Shopify lists online card fees from 1.6% + €0.25 on the Basic plan, and they fall step by step to 1.3% on the Plus plan. Using an external payment provider instead of the built-in one adds a percentage between 2% and 0.2%, depending on the plan you hold. At Wix, accepting payments is part of the plan from Core upward, and Light does not include it. Wix shows the exact fees per payment method in its sales area.
Team, products and loyalty
Wix counts collaborators: 2 on Light, 5 on Core, 10 on Business, 100 on Business Elite. A catalogue of 50,000 products is available from Core, and a loyalty programme sits in the e-commerce section of the higher plans. Shopify names up to 5 staff accounts on Grow and up to 15 on Advanced. It adds in-person selling with POS and sales on social networks and marketplaces.

Who should pick what
If you are building a shop and expect more orders, Shopify gives you steps for team, payments and channels. Fees fall with the plan, and selling runs across several channels.
If you want a calling card online with a few products, look at Wix. The entry price is lower, and over 900 templates help you start.
If you are unsure, use the trial and compare the yearly price with the number of products you really carry. Extra features and apps belong in that sum too, because they come on top of the plan.
Our pick
For building a store we recommend Shopify, mainly because the path from first sale to larger volume is mapped in its plans. Wix is a tidy choice for small sites. Work out the yearly price with every extra feature before you decide.
