Booking a Belvilla holiday home: payment, cancellation and cashback
Belvilla rents holiday homes across Europe and says on its home page that it offers more than 60,000 of them. Popular groups on the site include cottages in the Netherlands, holiday homes in Belgium, ski holidays, city breaks, holiday parks and group accommodation. There is nothing to ship here. What counts is how the payment schedule works, what a cancellation costs and how you change a booking. We read the help centre on belvilla.com in October 2026. The rules can change and can differ by property, so check your booking page.
Finding and booking a home
When you search, only available holiday homes are shown, and you can enter a month or length of stay to narrow the list. The calendar on each property page shows when it can be booked, and most homes can be booked for the current and the following year. You can arrange a visit to a home before booking by contacting the Customer Contact Center, which sets up an appointment with the owner. The accessibility filters let you look for features such as an adapted toilet, wide passages or a lift. Belvilla no longer prints brochures.
Payment schedule
Right after booking you pay a minimum of 30% of the total rental price plus the optional cancellation support. The remaining amount is due six weeks before departure at the latest, and if you pay in two instalments you get an email reminder a week before the second payment. If you travel within six weeks, you pay everything at once. For a departure within 14 days the payment must be in one instalment and by credit card.
The help centre lists credit card, PayPal and bank transfer. Transfers are the slowest route and can take up to 5 working days to appear, and the booking is not confirmed until the money has arrived. Payments through My Belvilla normally show up within 10 minutes. If a payment arrives too late, Belvilla can cancel the booking, so the shop advises paying through My Belvilla. Credit cards are charged immediately unless you choose to be charged later.
| At a glance | Belvilla |

| Deposit | Minimum 30% of the rent when booking |
| Balance | Six weeks before departure |

| Small changes | Free in My Belvilla, guests and pets |
| Significant changes | Not free, €27 possible |
Changes and cancellation
Small adjustments, such as the number of guests or pets up to the permitted maximum, can be made free of charge in My Belvilla. Other changes go through the Customer Contact Center, and the shop says significant changes may cost €27. Changing the dates or the accommodation can trigger cancellation costs.
You cancel under My Bookings, Upcoming Bookings, View Booking and Cancel Booking. A cancellation charge covers the costs of preparing your stay and rises the closer you are to arrival. It consists of 100% of the booking fees and the cancellation right charges, which are 1% of the total rent, plus a percentage of the rent that depends on how many days remain before arrival. The exact terms are on the property page and the booking voucher. If you booked through a partner website, the partner's conditions may apply. Cancellations are processed on business days, and the next business day sets the cost if yours arrives after closing time.
Arrival and keys
The accommodation ticket tells you how arrival works: either the owner or manager meets you with the key on site, or you collect it from an address on the ticket. The owner contact details are shared as soon as payment is made and the booking is confirmed. Arriving or leaving at a different time needs the owner's agreement, and extra costs can apply.
Using cashback
Open the Belvilla page at daily cashback, where the current rate (up to 2.5%) and the offers we found are listed with the date they were last checked. Press the shop button there, then search and book as you normally would. In your free account the cashback shows as open and becomes confirmed once Belvilla has reported the booking. A cancelled booking reduces the amount.
Practical tips
- Pay through My Belvilla and not by bank transfer if you book close to the due date, because a late transfer can lead to cancellation.
- Read the cancellation terms on the property page before you book, since they differ by home.
- Finish the booking in one visit and pause your ad blocker on the shop, since either can break the click.
- Keep other cashback and voucher sites closed while you book, since a later click can replace the first one.
