How to book a Belvilla home with cashback

The differences in brief
Payment. A Belvilla booking only becomes final once the down payment arrives. The down payment is a minimum of 30 percent of the travel amount, due with the booking confirmation. Belvilla asks for the rest six weeks before departure at the latest. Book closer than that and the whole amount is due at once, with bank transfer no longer accepted.
Cancellation. According to Belvilla terms there is no general right to free cancellation; the cancellation rules that apply are on the website and in your travel agreement. You can cancel until arrival, and the cost follows the rules of your booking. Belvilla aims to refund the remaining balance within 14 days. On Airbnb the host decides the policy; you read it at the listing, while paying and in the confirmation mail. With certain homes, eligible guests may pay extra to stretch the free-of-charge window to 24 hours ahead of check-in.
Fees. Airbnb charges a service fee that appears in the price breakdown before you book. By Airbnb help page, it is refunded when you cancel while free cancellation still applies. At Belvilla a security deposit, final cleaning, bed linen or an inspection charge for self-cleaning can come on top; the travel agreement describes type and way of payment.
Security deposit. Belvilla names a deposit for some homes. On Airbnb, deposits are mostly not allowed per the help page, with a few exceptions that must be disclosed.
Contract partner. At Belvilla your contract partner is Belvilla AG. At Airbnb you book with the host, through the platform.
Before and after booking
Look at the extra costs of both providers before the last click, because final cleaning, bed linen or host surcharges change the comparison. Factor in the arrival too: with Belvilla you receive the travel documents after the final payment, six weeks before arrival at the latest, by email and in the guest portal.
Keep the booking confirmation and the travel agreement until after the holiday. If the booking is missing from your account or something looks off, contact our team with the booking number from the confirmation. A coupon found elsewhere can override the assignment; if unsure, leave it out.
