Airalo vs Ubigi: Which eSIM Earns Cashback?

· 2026-09-19

Airalo vs Ubigi: if you want to buy a travel eSIM with cashback, take Airalo, because only Airalo has a shop page with us. Ubigi is another travel eSIM provider and is not one of our shops. Airalo also describes the route to a refund in your account step by step on its help page. Plans vary with country, data amount and validity, which is why no price winner is named. Status October 2026.

Cashback on eSIM purchases

Airalo has its own page with us: Airalo at daily cashback. Rate and terms are visible there ahead of your order. Ubigi is not one of our shops. An eSIM you buy there is not recorded through us.

Buying an eSIM on Airalo with cashback

  1. First check that your phone supports eSIM and is not tied to a carrier.
  2. Begin at the Airalo shop page; the ad blocker must be disabled and every voucher or comparison window closed.
  3. Continue to the provider and choose your country or a region. Read the country name closely.
  4. Select data amount and validity, then complete payment in one go.
  5. Your free account shows the order as pending. Confirmation comes once the shop releases it.
  6. Install the eSIM, ideally at home on Wi-Fi.

When cashback is lost

  • You request a refund. Airalo offers it in your account, and the cashback for that order then falls away.
  • You buy from Ubigi or by another route and not through the button on our shop page.
  • You use a voucher code or referral bonus from another site. It can replace the tracking.
  • The ad blocker swallowed the click.
  • You take days to think it over and then order from an old tab.

In direct comparison

Refunds. At Airalo you file the request in your account under My eSIMs in the package history, provided the order is eligible. Expired or fully used eSIMs are not. For a wrong purchase or changed plans the refund comes as Airmoney, if installation fails or the eSIM does not work, you may pick Airmoney or a return to the original payment method. An eSIM not yet installed can be handed on to another person by sharing its QR code.

Ubigi's terms state that paid data plans are not refunded. For an eSIM with a preloaded plan from the web shop, a refund is only possible as long as you have not scanned the QR code from the email. You send the payment confirmation with the request, within 14 business days of purchase. For locked phones there is no refund.

Validity. With both, data not used by the end of the validity period expires. Ubigi adds that a preloaded eSIM plan from the web shop stays valid for six months from purchase.

Topping up. Airalo lets you top up only those eSIMs marked as rechargeable. Whether yours is rechargeable shows before purchase under the additional information. If the Top up button is missing, you buy a new eSIM. Ubigi advertises topping up on the go through its app, which stays reachable even with an empty data balance.

Scope. Ubigi lists plans from 1 GB to unlimited in over 200 destinations and hotspot use. Airalo offers country, regional and global packs as well as unlimited data packages. Which countries your plan covers, each provider shows before purchase.

Loyalty scheme. Airalo credits buyers with Airmoney, depending on the level in its loyalty programme. With a discount code or referral bonus on the order, this credit does not apply according to the help page. That concerns Airalo's own programme, while our cashback is a separate route. Ubigi has its own programme called UbiClub.

Who should pick what

Cashback on the eSIM is a must: Airalo through the shop page. Ubigi brings nothing through us.

You need the eSIM at short notice: with Airalo an account and an order get you going fast. Install it beforehand and switch it on only at your destination.

You travel often and want to top up: check at Airalo before buying whether the eSIM is rechargeable. With Ubigi that runs through the app.

You are unsure about your phone: have the eSIM capability checked before you buy. With a locked device there is no refund at Ubigi.

Our recommendation

We would buy the eSIM from Airalo, since cashback is possible and the refund is described in the account. Check your destination with data amount and days at both and read only the final amount. The difference can go either way depending on the country.

Frequently asked questions

Is there cashback for Ubigi?
Ubigi is not one of our shops. Airalo has a shop page with us, and the current rate stands there.
Can I look at Ubigi and buy on Airalo?
Yes. Open the Airalo shop page afterwards and choose your destination there again, so the order is recorded.
What happens to the cashback if I request a refund on Airalo?
It falls away for that order, because the refund takes the place of the purchase.
Can I get an Airalo eSIM refunded?
Airalo offers a request in your account, provided the order is eligible. Expired or fully used eSIMs are excluded.
Can I return a Ubigi eSIM?
According to the terms only while the QR code from the email has not been scanned and the request with proof comes within 14 business days.
How long are Airalo and Ubigi valid?
Both providers state a fixed validity per plan. Unused data expires after that. Ubigi keeps preloaded plans from the web shop valid for six months from purchase.
Does the price change if I buy through your shop page?
No. You pay the price Airalo shows. The shop page only starts the purchase.
Does a discount code work together with the cashback?
A code from another site can replace the tracking. At Airalo a discount code also removes the Airmoney credit of the loyalty programme.
