TUI Cars vs Rentalcars: Where Is Car Hire Cheaper?
TUI Cars vs Rentalcars: which car rental portal saves you more? The rental price is best compared yourself for your days. For cashback the position is clear: TUI Cars has a shop page at daily cashback, Rentalcars does not. So we recommend TUI Cars if you would like something back on a rental car. Here is how to go about it, when the cashback is confirmed and what a cancellation means. Status: October 2026.
Where cashback exists
The TUI Cars shop page exists in our German edition, and that is where the current rate appears. An English version of it is not available, which is why no link follows here. For Rentalcars we run no shop page. Renting there earns nothing back from us, and that says nothing about the portal's quality.
How to proceed
- Open the TUI Cars shop page in your free account before you start searching.
- Go from there to TUI Cars and enter pick-up place, drop-off place and dates.
- Choose the car and complete the booking in a single run, keeping other comparison or discount sites closed meanwhile.
- Save the confirmation and note the cancellation deadline.
If you look at Rentalcars first, that is no problem. Only the actual booking has to begin with the click from our page. For that comparison, take the same car, the same days and the same protection package.
When cashback is confirmed
Right after booking, your account creates an open entry. Credit follows only when the rental period is over: TUI Cars then reports the rental as done, the partner network checks it, and your cashback can be paid out under the offer terms. Book a summer car in spring and the money is ready only after you hand the car back.
Cancellation, rebooking and cashback
By its own site TUI Cars allows free cancellation or no-fee rebooking of cars up to 24 hours before pick-up, except for a single provider in Alaska. For your cashback a separate rule applies: should a booking be cancelled, altered or left unused, the claim may lapse or be undone under the terms. So a free rebooking with the provider does not automatically leave the credit untouched.
If you are unsure about date or station, book only once the trip is settled. If you have already booked and must change, ask us before you do. That is more honest than promising a reward that the partner's terms do not carry.
What your cashback does not touch
Cashback changes nothing about the rental terms. Deposit, fuel rule and damage claims you settle with the provider. At TUI Cars the site states a full-to-full rule and a deposit to be left. At Rentalcars you read the terms of the fare you choose. The cashback comes on top at the end and does not replace comparing what is included.
If the entry does not show up
After booking, an open entry should appear in your account within a day. If it is missing, one of three things is usually the cause: the click from our page came too long before the purchase, cookies were blocked, or another price or voucher site was open in between. Write to our support and attach the TUI Cars confirmation email. There is no guarantee that every booking can be matched afterwards, so a clean sequence from the start pays off.
Several cars or a longer trip
If you plan two vehicles, say one for each leg in different countries, treat every booking as a process of its own with its own click from the shop page. That keeps it clear which confirmation belongs to which rental period. The cancellation deadline also applies per booking.

If both portals appeal to you about equally, take TUI Cars through our shop page. You get the services named in the provider's price and cashback on top. If you choose Rentalcars, do it for the rental company or the fare and not in the expectation that we credit anything.
